Gallagher feeds the scrum and Canada get the free kick. They go quickly, moving it away to the left! Morra is hit hard on the edge and has knocked it on! Tonga will set the scrum on the Canada 22 on their right edge. 

Nelson adds the easy two from in front to narrow the gap. 

TEAM NEWS: Canada - Seven changes have been made to the starting side after going down to the United States by 13 points. Mason Flesch moves from blindside flanker to lock and Matt Oworu moves from the bench to start on the blindside as Izzak Kelly drops out of the side. Josiah Morra slots onto the left wing in place of Nic Benn, while Ben LeSage moves in one to second-five and Takoda McMullin goes from right wing to outside centre. That sees Andrew Coe shift from fullback to the right wing, allowing for Cooper Coats to round out the starting side at fullback. Siôn Parry and Tyler Matchem are the new faces on the bench.

Flesch brings down another line out as Canada look to drive. Breaking away is Quattrin to the short side but the maul holds up! Good carry from Rumball off the back  as Canada are 5 out. Throwing himself at the defence is Coe! He gets an offload away as Canada keep it alive but it is put down on the left edge! Sakalia with the big shot on the Fryer who knocks on! 

Mataele brings down another in the line out. Big carry from Moala in midfield! Numbers 

Nelson goes short up the right for Canada! Bringing it down is Coe! Over the top goes Higgins but Tonga are able to get back 10 out from their line to recover. Pellegrini is back in the pocket and puts it up the left edge into touch up near his 10 metre line. 

Both of these teams went winless through Pool play with Tonga losing matches to Samoa first up and then taking a thrashing from Fiji last weekend 50-19. They have made several changes this week as they look to finish their campaign on a high note in Tokyo. 

Felemi goes to the bin for bringing down the maul close to the line! Canada smartly opt for the scrum as Tonga have to make a change with the front rower in the bin. 

Penalty for Canada outside the 22 as Tonga are pinged for taking a man out off the ball in the ruck. Nelson puts the ball to touch up the right, 15 out from the Tongan line. 

Tonga bring down the line out at the front as Sakalia goes on the wrap around. Picking and going strongly is Moala! He gets down towards the 22! Short side right attack with Foliaki but they come back for a penalty towards the middle just inside the 22. 

Halo feeds the scrum but the front rows go down once again. Time for another reset. 

Back underway for the second half in Tokyo. Tonga kick off up the right. Canada bring it down inside the 22 with Nelson and he opts for the mark. Puts it up to touch on the left for the Tongan line out on the 10 metre line. 

MCMULLIN SLICES THROUGH! Canada continue to attack on the 22! They move it right with Nelson! Quick ball back inside off the ruck for McMullin! He goes through a massive gap and goes under the bar untouched! 

Canada bring down the line out at the front with Flesch as they look to drive forward inside the 22. Good counter from Tonga and it goes to ground with the maul! The scrum feed will go the way of Canada though. 

Paea feeds the scrum just short of his 22 for Tonga. Away he comes to the right as Pellegrini thumps it into touch up near his 10 metre line for the Canadian line out. 

Higgins feeds the scrum from the short side on the Tongan 22. It goes to ground but Canada get the reward with the free kick. They tap and go! Crashing forward is Oworu. Little knock on but there is a penalty for Canada as the Tongan's were offside at the ruck! Shot called. Right out in front on the 22. 

Mataele brings down another line out! Crashing forward on the wrap around is Sakaila! Inisi drives forward as Tonga work the ball into the Canadian 22! Crashing forward again is Inisi! They come away to the left side as the advantage is being played. Pellegrini drops the ball over the top on the left but they come back for the penalty! No release in the tackle by Canada. Pellegrini again opts for the sideline. 

Time for the break in Tokyo with Tonga taking the lead into the sheds 19-10. It has been a solid performance from the Tongan side so far and they have managed to cross the line short handed to extend their lead midway through that half. They raced out to an early lead with tries to Moala and Tapueluelu before Canada struck back with Quattrin. Unga crossed the line down the right side to extend the lead for Tonga once again. Pellegrini has been a standout for Tonga running the cutter to perfection. Up front, the likes of Inisi and Mataele have been excellent. They will be looking to kick on and bring this one home. 

It's a stinking hot afternoon in Tokyo with the mercury well into the 30s as we get set for kick off. Nic Berry is the man with the whistle for this clash. Both teams are out in the middle for the formalities. Canada are wearing their alternate white strip for this clash. 

Tonga take out 5th spot in the Pacific Nations Cup for 2024 off the back of a quality performance in Tokyo this afternoon. They had to dig deep in that second half and were able to put Canada away close the match out. 

TEAM NEWS: Tonga - Five changes have been made to the starting side after a tough loss to Fiji. Tevita Ahokovi shifts from blindside flanker to lock, replacing Onehunga Kaufusi, while Siosiua Moala slots onto the blindside flank. John Tapueluelu comes onto the left wing for Samuel Tuitupou and Nikolai Foliaki shifts from fullback to the right wing in place of Esau Filimoehala. That sees Josiah Unga round out the starting side at fullback. New faces on the bench include Manu Paea and Kafaikamoana Vaea.

Higgins feeds the scrum from the short side on his 22. Big shove from Tonga but Rumball is off the back down the short side linking with Higgins! They are away over halfway! Shifted right with McMullin who kicks forward but it is out on the full! Back they come for a little Tongan error on the left edge for the Canada scrum. 

This time the ball is delivered off the back of the scrum as Paea crashes forward to make a better angle for the clearing kick. Pellegrini puts it up the right into touch just beyond his 22 metre line. 

Again Higgins feeds the scrum and Canada look to keep it short, driving forward towards the line. They have the advantage as they pick and go. Higgins finds Quattrin one off as Rumball puts it down! Back they come for the penalty in the scrum! Not staying straight against Tonga. Another scrum is called by Canada. 

No mistake from Pellegrini as he sends it through the middle! 

Flesch brings down the line out as Canada look to drive forward. Tameifuna is told to get out of there as Canada drop down at the 5! Higgins goes back to the short side but is monstered! Back they come for a maul penalty!

Halo fires off the back of the scrum for Pellegrini who drives it downfield! Coats is on the return with Coe in support as Canada find contact again back outside the 22. Fryer drives forward as they come back to the left. Good defence from Tonga as they keep them around the 22. Nelson fires for Rumball in the middle but he is going nowhere fast. Out the back on the right but Fryer is taken well behind the advantage line. 

Canada win the line out and crashing forward is Oworu! Higgins puts the kick in over the top back towards the right but this one drifts into touch on the full! Back they come towards the Tongan 10 metre line for the Tonga line out. 

Canada continue to attack with short balls off the ruck on the 22! They move it right 

Tonga tip a ball on down the left with Inisi and Taupueluelu! Tonga go hot on the attack downfield with a few offloads as they approach the Canada 22 metre line! They work the ball back down the left edge and get the penalty  as Canada are offside! Pellegrini calls for the shot. On the 22, 15 in from the left edge. 

Halo feeds the scrum from the short side as the ball is put down in midfield by Tapueluelu looking to get on the wrap around! Scrum for Canada on their 10 metre line in midfield. 

Tonga win a free kick in the line out and slow the play down opting for the tap. Pellegrini smashes it down the middle. Coming back with the kick is Nelson! Pellegrini is back there one more and returns serve. Nelson puts it into touch back up near halfway from the top of his 22. Good result for Tonga there. 

Tonga throw to the line out just inside the 22. Mataele brings down the line out again as Inisi drives forward! Breaking away is Halo and he nearly gets to the line on the short side! 

Duguid brings down the line out as Canada get a great maul going back towards their 10 metre line. Nelson puts it into the sky. Unga brings it down on his 10. Tonga shift it across to the left at speed but Inisi is hammered. Another long ball attack on the right for Tonga as Foliaki gets into the action but it has been lost! Canada take contact around halfway. 

Higgins feeds the scrum and Canada immediately get the penalty as Tonga are driving into the side of the scrum. Nelson finds the line up the left outside his 22 metre line. 

The scrum go ground again and it looks like Nic Berry is going to let them play before calling it up late as Rumball picks up at the back of the scrum for another reset. 

Tonga bring down the line out and look to drive forward. Sakalia takes it forward as Pellegrini puts the ball over the top! Coe brings it down outside the 22 and finds Nelson inside. Kicks downfield finding Unga inside his 22. He returns fire and finds touch up the right but it is off the side of the boot!  

UNGA GOES IN! Lovely work from Tonga as they break away off the line out with Halo! They work a couple of phases back towards the middle before shifting play back to the right side! Pellegrini goes through the hands and finds Unga getting to the outside and dotting down in the corner!

Tonga go up the right on the restart. Canada bring it down on the 22 with Morra but he is thumped by the charging defence. Canada recycle into the midfield before Higgins puts it over the top into touch up near his 10 metre line. 

Pellegrini adds the two from out near the right edge. 

TRY TIME! Mataele brings down the line out and the drive forward from Tonga is near perfect! Moala gets onto the end of the drive and drops down over the line as Canada have no show stopping that one! 

Higgins feeds the scrum for Canada and they come away to the right. Out the back with Nelson and LeSage. Coe puts the ball over the top but it drifts into touch on the full! Back come Tonga for the line out just inside their half. 

Good work here from Tonga as they take it down the right and work it 10 out from the Canada line. Into the middle with Tameifuna but he knocks on in the ruck! Back they come to the 22 metre line for the Tongan penalty. Canada were offside in the ruck. Pellegrini puts it into the corner on the right edge. 

Canada set the line out just outside the Tongan 22. Flesch brings down the line out as Quattrin puts the ball inside for Morra! He nearly breaks through the ball is put down! Tonga move it quickly left for Taupueluelu. Moala gets inside and is taken on his 22. Pellegrini puts the kick back up the right and bounces it into touch just over halfway. 

Inisi crashes forward over halfway off the top of the line out! Tonga head back down the right short side and they find metres getting towards the 22 metre line! They look for the offload through Ahokovi back on the inside but it is dropped! Scrum for Canada just outside their 22.  

Canada bring down the line out with Fryer. Carrying into the midfield is Rumball! Nelson puts up the bomb back towards the left and Morra brings it down outside the 22! Penalty for Tonga though as Canada get their timing wrong going into the ruck and are pinged for the early hit. Pellegrini drives it up the right finding the line on the Canada 10. 

BOOM! Tonga bring down the line out and crashing forward in midfield is Moala hard over the 10! Quick ball away to the left with Inisi and Pellegrini sending a cut out ball for Tapueluelu! Fantastic run as he beats one, then steps inside and gasses back towards the corner and dots it down! 

Canada go short up the right on the restart. Tonga bring it down outside the 22 with Finau. Over the top goes Halo. Coats drives a kick back down the middle and Tonga call for the mark inside the 22. Driven back up the left into touch just outside the Tongan 22 for the Canada line out. 

Great nudge from out on the left by Pellegrini as he converts from the touchline. 

Canada go straight onto the attack inside the 22! Nelson kicks across towards the left edge! Morra comes through but he can't handle it cleanly going up to grab it in the aerial contest and knocks on! Scrum for Tonga on their 5 metre line near the right touch line. 

Paea feeds the scrum and Tonga monster the Canadians! An attacking kick from Pellegrini towards Taupueluelu who brings it down 10 short of the line but is taken in a good tackle! They move a ball back towards the right edge and Pellegrini is smoked in the tackle! They come back to the middle of the park as Canada are offside. Scrum called 10 out from the line. 

Pellegrini is rushed by the shot clock and drags it away to the left from the right edge. 

Flesch brings down the line out and it is out the back wth decoy runners in the backfield. Quattrin sets the play on the 22 in midfield as Fryer picks and goes. Ball out the back to the left with McMullin 20 out from the line. 

Tonga go long up the right on the restart. Nelson calls for the mark deep inside his 22.  He drives the ball up the left into touch just short of his 10 metre line for the Tongan line out. 

Welcome into Tribe’s coverage of this Pacific Nations Cup playoff match for 5th and 6th between Tonga and Canada live from Chichibunomiya Rugby Stadium in Tokyo. I’m Dan Gread and I will have all the action for you this afternoon. 

Canada have been solid enough but have made a few errors in key positions on the park. They managed to knock over an early penalty but then conceded back to back tries to put them right on the back foot. Quattrin and Flesch have been a good combination in the line outs while Coe has been excellent on the restarts. They will need to be better in the second half if they are going to run down the Tongans. 

This time it's Halo feeding the scrum from the open side. An early pop in the middle by Sakalia and we will once again reset.....

Tonga toss it out to the left edge but it is over the top and into touch! There is a touch from the man on the wing from Tonga as he tried to haul that one in and it will result in a scrum for Canada just outside their 10 metre line. 

Loose ball out the back for Canada on their 10 as Coe has to go back and tidy up. Lost in the ruck but Canada as Tonga are able to regain control! They too throw it away on the left edge with Tapueluelu is driven into touch looking to work the ball back infield. Tongan scrum is the call as there was a Canada knock on in the earlier phase. 

Nelson goes short up the right and it just goes 10 as Canada come through and claim it! Flat ball into the midfield for LeSage as Nelson kicks the ball along the ground up the left but it rolls into touch on the Tongan 22. Poor play there as they should have kept the ball in hand with numbers out wider. 

Nelson slots it from 10 right of the sticks and it is time for a quick water break. 

Nelson finds the line up the left inside the 22 for the Canada line out. Flesch brings down another throw as they look to drive. Told to use it as Higgins finds McMullin running onto it in midfield! Flesch tips it on as they move it right! Great defence from Tonga and they win the turn over! They get the rewards as there is a little knock on from Canada and Tonga will feed the scrum 20 out from their line. 

So Halo feeds a scrum from the short side just outside his 22. Away into the midfield for Paea. Pellegrini is in the pocket and puts it down but backwards is the call! Tonga are able to recover on their 22 and they look to blunt  a way forward. Halo puts it over the top. Coming forward is Coe with a fantastic take on his 10 metre line. 

Higgins feeds another scrum from the short side. Away it goes into the middle as McMullin looks to crash forward. Onto the right edge with Coats driving the kick through! Back there is Unga and he does well coming off his 5 metre line. Driving the ball into touch up the left is Paea just outside his 22. 

Pellegrini nudges the penalty through from the 22. 

Canada have scored plenty of points in their Pool matches but have conceded plenty as well! After going down in the first match to Japan, they were beaten a fortnight ago in their final Pool game by the USA 28-15. They too have rung the changes this week and will be looking for a solid performance to end their campaign. 

Flesch brings down another line out as Canada look to drive towards halfway. Good drive at the back with Quattrin controlling it. Into the middle with Oworu crashing forward. Off the back goes Rumball but he is driven back near halfway. Put down on halfway and hacked into touch by Tonga for halftime. 

Flesch brings down the line out at the back for Canada and they get the penalty! Another penalty for bringing down a maul against Tonga. Tameifuna is pinged for sacking that one as touch is found up the left by Nelson 10 outside the Tongan 22 metre line. 

Penalty in the line out for Tonga as Canada come through early in an offside position. Pellegrini finds the touch line up the right edge just inside his 10 metre line. Mataele gets jumped in front of and Canada bat it back on their side! Morra has to go back to halfway to recover it as Higgins puts a ball over the top! Good take from Pellegrini and he keeps it alive on his 10! 

Halo gets another ball into the scrum. Both front rows pop for a second time and the penalty goes the way of Canada! Massive pats on the back from the Canadians! Nelson plugs it up the right, finding touch 15 out from the Tongan line. 

Kotze throws to the line out as Flesch brings down another one. Strong run from McMullin in midfield but he looks for the offload and Tonga are able to scoop it up! They work the ball forward outside the 22 before dropping it back for Pellegrini who puts it down the middle. Coats is back into contact on the Tongan 10. Penalty for Canada as Coats was taken in a high shot. 

Halo comes away to the right with Pellegrini off the back of the scrum! He kicks it low but it is off the legs of the defender and rolling away into touch for the Tongan line out on halfway. 

CANADA STRIKE BACK! Lovely run off the back of the scrum by Rumball as he shrugs off one and is downed just short! Quick pick up off the back of the ruck at close range and it is Quattrin driving low and hard over the line for the try! 

Another scrum for Tonga as it screws around! They 

Halo feeds the scrum as both front rows pop. Time for a reset calls Nic Berry. 

Time for a quick water break as there are players down all over the park. 

Halo looks to feed the scrum from the open side. It goes to ground early and is called up for the reset. 

Kotze finds Flesch once more as Canada shift it into midfield with McMullin. Away they go to the right but the ball pops free! Scooped up by Tonga and they power over halfway! They move it right with Ahokovi! Lovely run from the lock ranging towards the Canada 22! 

Nelson goes high down the middle! Coe comes through outside the 22 but it is put down by the Canadian. Scrum for Tonga just outside their 22.
