Even though the USA didn't get the result they were after tonight, they will hold their head's up high as they were able to match it physically with the Fijians throughout the match! Their scrum was a bit of a disaster at times as the Fijians were able to drive over the top of it multiple times. Fricker was solid at the back, while up front, Peterson was excellent coming on at halftime. They will take on the loser of Japan and Samoa next weekend for the 3rd and 4th place playoff match.
All over in Tokyo! Fiji come away with a hard fought victory and book their place in next week's Cup Final. They were able to grind down the USA and put them away in the second half with early tries to Canakaivata and Lomani. Muntz was brilliant for Fiji this evening. He drove his side around the park and turned the USA around when they turned the ball over. He will be a crucial figure in their final next weekend.

Smith goes back to the right off the scrum! Besag puts the ball to the turf looking to stab the kick through! Fiji are back there and try a chip over the top themselves. The USA regain possession near halfway. Over the top goes Smith. Droasse shows strength to muscle it back on his 10. Muntz puts it down looking to come up the right. Ryan scoops it up but knocks on. Scrum for the USA near halfway on the left edge.

The USA look to move the ball back to the left off the scrum! Up come the USA quickly but it is knocked on as they try to get in the way of it in midfield! Another scrum for the USA just outside the 22 in centrefield.

Smith looks to feed the scrum but it goes to ground on the hit. Up we get for another reset.

Mattina puts the ball to touch up the right just six metres away from the Fijian line. Ryan can't hang onto the ball at the back of the line out and then Fiji come through, scooping it up with Ravai but he knocks on charging forward on the 22! Scrum for the USA on their 22 as time is slowly seeping away on this game.

Thrown to the back of the line out by Pifeleti but it is knocked on! Fiji come forward and move it right on their 10 metre line but they give away a penalty in the ruck! Smith taps and goes as the USA work it back towards the 22. Out the back on the left with Santos but he is hammered. The Fiji defence is solid and back they come to the middle of the park outside the 22 for the USA penalty.
