France’s victory was anchored by stellar performances from Dupont and Ramos. The French captain orchestrated play with his usual precision, while Ramos’ kicking and tactical awareness were instrumental in keeping Argentina at bay. Meanwhile, Flament and Bielle-Biarrey showcased the depth and flair of this French side, combining power and finesse to seal the win. For Argentina, Gonzalez stood out as their most dynamic player, while Tomas Albornoz and Julian Montoya worked tirelessly to keep their team in contention. For now, that rounds things out in this one. Thanks for tuning into Tribe.
Los Pumas refused to back down and kept hammering at France’s defensive line. Their persistence paid off in the 70th minute when Ignacio Ruiz burrowed over following a sustained attack near the French try line. Gonzalez and Pablo Matera were relentless in their efforts, spearheading Argentina’s attack and making valuable contributions in both the breakdown and open play. Despite their late push, the Pumas couldn’t close the gap further as France’s discipline and game management held firm in the closing stages.
Argentina came out firing in the second half, determined to claw their way back. Their forward pack began to exert more pressure, and Tomas Gallo crashed over in the 56th minute after a well-executed lineout drive. However, France responded almost immediately through the brilliance of Louis Bielle-Biarrey. The excitement machine displayed his game-breaking talent, stabbing through a deft grubber kick and regathering to score a sensational try down the left flank, restoring the French advantage.
The first half was dominated by France’s clinical finishing and tactical control. Thibaud Flament opened the scoring in the 9th minute, powering over after strong phase play set up by Antoine Dupont and Yoram Moefana. Ramos’ accurate boot kept the scoreboard ticking with three penalties, including a long-range effort from halfway. Gabin Villiere added a superb try in the 33rd minute, benefitting from Leo Barre’s incisive offload. The momentum shifted firmly in France’s favour when a penalty try was awarded following a deliberate knock-on by Juan Martin Gonzalez, who was also shown a yellow card.
France overcame a spirited second-half resurgence from Argentina to secure a hard-fought 14-point victory at Stade de France. Leading by 21 points at the break, Fabien Galthié’s side weathered a determined Los Pumas fightback and showcased their attacking flair when it mattered most. After the teams split their two games in Argentina earlier this year, France managed to get the resounding win in front of their home crowd.
