Argentina have a chance to do the double here in Madrid! They were absolutely ruthless on defence in the second half, making some monster hits to prevent New Zealand from getting onto the front foot, and sending Matteo Graziano over the tryline three times to give them the lead. New Zealand coughed up a couple of penalties on defence, giving the South Americans great opportunities to pin them down in their own half. The Kiwis had plenty of ball in hand, but between the monstrous defensive effort from Argentina and a handling error at the death it was a bridge too far for New Zealand who will have to settle for the bronze medal match.

Loose offload in the midfield sends New Zealand backwards again. They track back to the 10 to clean up and work their way back up to the 22, but they spill it forward up into the red zone as the final hooter sounds!
13'
Openside ball to Knewstubb who is stopped short on halfway. Recycled to the left wing where they work it up over the 10. Back through the hands to the right wing where Ware is smashed by Isgro now! The Kiwis are able to recycle this one back infield. Dickson drives back up into the 22 out on the left wing before another shift infield.

New Zealand claim the restart just behind their 10 and spread it backwards and out to the left wing where Curry is absolutely clattered in the tackle! The ball comes loose in the contact, and it's ruled to have come forward off Isgro.

Lineout set up just over the 10. Quick ball off the top and infield through the hands. Switch back shortside, but the Kiwis are quick on defence now. Back to the left, and they burst up into the 22! Desperate tackle on the 5, but a huge drive from Graziano gets him a hat-trick!
