Fetu Samoa survived a stern test in the second half to book their spot in the Pacific Bowl Final after they outlasted Tonga 16-30 in Suva. Leading 10-20 at halftime, Samoa were forced to dig deep as Tonga changed the momentum of the match early in the second half. A threatening grubber by Emmanita Paki created some chaos on the ground before Lavinia Tauhalaliku willed her way over to close the gap to four points in the 42nd minute. While Tonga threatened to take the lead, the Samoan defence held firm on their line before a powerful surge and deft late offload created a runaway try to Jessica Patea with 14 minutes to go. Lindsay Tui sealed the win when she scored from a Pauline Piliae-Rasabale bomb in the 66th minute.
