That's all we have for this one. Stay with Tribe for more NRL pre-season action on Friday night where the Sea Eagles take on the Panthers before the Wests Tigers and Eels lock horns in a double header at Leichhardt Oval. This is Anthony Morgan signing off.
Fielding a very inexperienced side, the Roosters toiled hard for the full 80 minutes. Robert Toia produced an eye-catching display at right centre with 116m, a try assist and six tackle busts from his 12 runs. Naufahu Whyte was strong in the middle with 116m and 27 tackles while Hugo Savala was another impressive performer with 73m from nine strong runs in the second half.
The Dragons got solid minutes into their big guns in the first half as they cruised to an 18-4 lead before coach Shane Flanagan gave most of them an early mark. Sione Finau was strong on the wing with a try and 116m from his 11 runs while Kyle Flanagan and Lachlan Ilias combined well in the halves. Mikaele Ravalawa brought impact out of yardage in the second half with 95m while Raymond Faitala-Mariner (84m) was hard to contain on the right edge.
St George Illawarra ran in five tries to two to beat the Sydney Roosters 26-8 in a solid pre-season hitout at Netstrata Jubilee Stadium. Leading 18-4 at halftime, the Red V had a few nervous moments when the Roosters worked their way back to within 10 points through a try to Tyreece Tait in the 53rd minute. The Tricolours threatened to close the gap further but their handling let them down as the Dragons slowly got back on top. A pinpoint bomb by Kade Reed was regathered by Nathan Lawson, who then popped in a deft grubber for Reed to sprint through for a vital try with 17 minutes to go. Mikaele Ravalawa had the final say when he crossed from a slick Ben Rumble cutout pass in the 77th minute.
