South Africa shift it into centrefield off the scrum before opting to put boot to ball. GB double back to recover and carry back up over halfway where South Africa are paid the breakdown penalty. The hosts tap quickly, shift it left, and Oosthuizen has the engine to go ALL. THE. WAY. as he scoots 50m to score beneath the sticks!

It was a ding-dong battle on the whole, with South Africa striking twice and GB responding immediately after. Ultimately, Blood's late try proved the difference however, with a knock-on off the subsequent restart proving costly for the British.

Hello everyone and welcome to Tribe’s continuing coverage of Day 2 at the Cape Town 7s. It’s the final match of the day, Cup quarter-final 4, as Pool A winners South Africa take on Pool D runners-up Great Britain. South Africa have been in red hot form, taking home the title last week in Dubai, then winning 3 of 3 in their pool this week. They weren't the biggest wins in terms of margin at just 10, 10, and 19, but they won't mind one bit if they keep on winning. Great Britain, on the other hand, snuck a last minute win again Australia in their first pool match, allowing them to progress to this quarter-final despite a heavy 36-5 loss to the USA in their second match. The winner of this match will face Samoa in the semi-final. South Africa will be the heavy favourites to progress, but anything can happen in 7s, and we're about to get underway.

GB tap and probe in centrefield 10m shy of the chalk. Barden is hit in a strong tackle and the ball jolts free. South Africa are paid a relieving scrum feed.

GB get it in and out of the scrum before putting boot to ball. South Africa double back and recover on their 22. They start building out from the back and soon cross halfway through Soyizwapi. It's good continuity from the hosts as they edge up to the GB 22...

GB shift it right off the scrum as they build into the South African 22. They eventually find Sofolarin on the right touchline who's footwork sees him cross in the corner!

And we're underway! GB field the kick-off on their 22 before Oosthuizen is pinged for a high shot. GB call for an early scrum...

GB hit right back as they field the restart midway inside their half. The ball is quickly swung out to the right flank where Williams puts the hammer down. He strides into South African territory, jinks inside Duarttee, and runs it in under the sticks!

GB eventually pilfer back possession and steadily work their way up to halfway. They shift it right and find McFarland in space on the touchline. He doesn't have the gas to go all the way and is hauled down 20m short. GB recycle quickly and toss the ball into centrefield where the pill hits the deck. The referee is bringing it back for an offside penalty against South Africa though...

Du Preez gets it in and out of the scrum and South Africa hack the ball into the stands. They're into the Cup semi-finals!

South Africa secure the lineout before trucking it up through the centre of the park as  Davids carries to within 15m. South Africa shift it wide right with speed and Blood has the simple task of running it over in the corner!

A mistake at the restart by Duarttee who knocks it out on the full. GB call for a scrum on halfway...

So, it's the hosts who edge this tight and tense affair to book their spot in the Cup semi-finals tomorrow. They'll take on Samoa, while GB will have to settle for a 5th-place semi-final against Argentina.

Oosthuizen claims the shallow restart before motoring down the left touchline. He's reigned in on the GB 10m line where things turn a bit scrappy as the ball trickles into touch. It'll be a South African lineout...

Back underway as South Africa field the shallow restart on the left touchline. The hosts edge up to halfway before freeing Blood on the left touchline. He makes metres into the GB half before South Africa find Duarttee on the opposite flank. He jinks inside his marker along the 22 before striding in under the poles!
