Western United will be pleased to come from behind this evening. They looked like they might in trouble conceding the first goal in the second half, but their class came to the forefront with Ibusuki netting twice and Leonard finding the back of the net in tight spaces from a corner to become the club's youngest goal scorer at the age of 17. He then went and let himself down late, being shown a straight red outside his box in the challenge with Caicedo. Botic was outstanding in the second half with his prints all over those goals for Westner. United have the bye next weekend.

It was another disappointing effort from Perth. They found the back of the net with Taggart sliding a ball across for the face for Ostler to turn home! They reverted to type after that with defensive lapses costing them dearly as Western United punished them. Ostler and Ngo were the standouts for Perth Glory. Faisal came on late and caused issues up front for the Western United defence but he wasn't able to find the net. A trip to Adelaide awaits in the next round.

Plenty of drama late including a red card but it is Western United that come away with the all important competition points! They went behind early in the second half with a strike from Ostler finding the back of the net for Perth! Three goals in 16 minutes including a double for Ibusuki put the game to bed for Western United as they banish Perth to another disappointing loss!

Caicedo swings the corner in from the right and it is headed over the byline by Walatee for a repeat corner. Floated in again towards the back post! Over the head of everyone. Pennington gets over there and floats it back into the box. Sutton comes forward and goes up to claim it. Drives it back up the middle and that will do it!

United throw a ball over halfway on the left. Ibusuki gives chase but Barr mops up. Worked back to the left for Perth. Switched over the top looking for Caicedo getting into the box! Cuts inside from the right and deflects a ball away for a corner on the shot!

Sutton sends a ball back up the middle. Perth try to control it near the sideline and they win the throw in. They work the ball around the back again. Driven towards the top of the box but headed away at the back by Vidmar. United win the throw in on the left edge near halfway as they look to get onto the break.

Caicedo stands over the free kick just outside the box! Takes a couple of steps forward and sends the boot through it! Clears the wall but too much height and it is over the crossbar!
