That's it for this match but the Nations League continues tomorrow and Tribe will have you covered with all the action. Until then, this is Sanil Karan signing off.
Despite their relentless attempts, Spain could not secure the breakthrough they needed and had to settle for a draw away from home. For Serbia, this point was a significant boost, as they managed to restrict one of the world's top teams to very few clear-cut opportunities.
The second half unfolded as a tightly contested battle, with both teams struggling to break the deadlock. The positive for Serbia was their defensive resilience, effectively limiting Spain's chances from the edge of the box. Fabian Ruiz and Robin Le Normand both missed opportunities prior to the hour mark, and Spain appeared on the brink of failing to score within 90 minutes for the first time since the Nations League final in 2023. Lamine Yamal had two attempts to put Spain ahead, but neither tested Rajkovic, who also denied Nico Williams with a solid save on a header.
European Champions Spain visited Belgrade with the aim of extending their dominance in international football, fielding a strong starting eleven against a Serbian team that struggled at the Euros, scoring only once in their group stage. Despite Spain's superior lineup, Serbia created early opportunities, with Sasa Lukic, Ivan Ilic, and Luka Jovic all missing chances as they looked to exploit counter-attacks. Spain eventually found their rhythm and began generating their own chances, with Martin Zubimendi forcing a save from Predrag Rajkovic. As the first half drew to a close, Spain intensified their efforts to take the lead, but were unable to capitalize on their chances before the break.
