Thanks for joining Tribe for this coverage. The UEFA Nations League continues tomorrow and I'll see you then. Until next time, this is Sanil Karan signing off.
Having already secured their place in the Nations League knockout stages for the first time since the tournament began with a victory over the Netherlands, this dominant performance confirmed their status as deserving group winners. On the other hand, Bosnia's unpredictable journey in the Nations League continues, as they have now experienced promotion and relegation between Leagues A and B in each of the tournament’s four iterations.
Germany continued their dominance in the second half, with Florian Wirtz scoring a stunning free-kick for the fourth. He quickly added another, tapping in a low cross from Havertz to extend the lead even further. Substitutions couldn’t stem the tide for Bosnia, and Leroy Sane capped a brilliant individual run with a goal to add the sixth. The night ended in despair for Bosnia as Tim Kleindienst netted his second goal, finishing Rudiger’s cross to complete the rout, marking Bosnia's heaviest defeat in history.
Germany quickly took control of the match, taking the lead within the first two minutes through Jamal Musiala’s header from a Kimmich cross. Despite Bosnia’s struggles, things worsened 20 minutes later when Robert Andrich’s shot deflected in off Tim Kleindienst for Germany’s second, with Bosnia unable to clear their lines. The visitors were kept in the game by a brilliant save from Nikola Vasilj to deny Kai Havertz, but they were soon undone by a fluid German attack, with Havertz scoring a third after a perfect assist from Florian Wirtz. Bosnia’s luck ran out as two crucial saves from Germany’s goalkeeper, Baumann, denied Armin Gigovic and Ermedin Demirovic just before halftime.
