Thanks for joining Tribe for this coverage. The UEFA Nations League continues tomorrow and I'll see you then. Goodbye for now.
Tonight's result continues France's disappointing trend in the Nations League, as they have now secured only one victory in their last seven matches in the competition. This marks a lackluster performance since their triumph in UEFA’s newest international tournament in 2021. On the other hand, Italy are in a much more favorable position, having kicked off their Nations League campaign with a win for the first time ever.
After the break, Luciano Spalletti’s Italy continued their relentless attacking pressure and were soon rewarded when Mateo Retegui provided an assist for Davide Frattesi to score and give Italy the lead. The Italian side didn’t have to wait long to extend their advantage, as two of Spalletti’s substitutes made a significant impact. Destiny Udogie delivered a precise pass from the left flank to Giacomo Raspadori, who skillfully controlled the ball and scored his first international goal away from home in nearly two years. This double strike showcased Italy’s resilience and the effective use of their bench strength.
Against a star-studded French side, Italy’s game plan was disrupted almost immediately when Bradley Barcola capitalized on a lapse from Giovanni Di Lorenzo to score a very fast goal. Despite this early setback, Italy had a chance to equalize shortly after when Davide Frattesi’s unmarked header hit the crossbar. The Italians dominated much of the play following the early goal and finally equalized just before the half-hour mark with a spectacular volley from Federico Dimarco, assisted by Sandro Tonali, which beat Mike Maignan and brought Italy back into the game.

CLOSE! Mbappe plays a pass from the right to Kone, who takes a shot after receiving the ball. Kone's effort from the edge of the box is well-placed but narrowly misses, sliding just wide of the left post.
90+3'
Kean wins a corner on the right, and he teams up with Tonali to execute a short corner routine. They effectively retain possession and use the opportunity to manage the game and run down the clock.
90+1'
Kone passes the ball to Dembele on the right, but the winger’s attempt is lackluster. His half-hearted shot-cum-cross goes directly into Donnarumma’s hands. The goalkeeper takes the opportunity to go down, wasting time and slowing the game down.

France maintain possession, but Kean makes a notable effort to intercept the ball from Thuram in midfield. Thuram reacts by pulling Kean's shirt, resulting in a foul being awarded to Italy.
