That is all we have time for on Tribe as Aston Villa on their return to the biggest club competition in the world. I have been Elliot Thompson, and thank you for joining me. Stay with us on Tribe for more Champions League coverage, with several games kicking off in 15 minutes.
Young Boys will be bitterly disappointed that two moments of poor defensive work let them down. They completely switched off for the first goal from a corner, which is something you just can’t do at this level. Then, the second goal was absolute madness from Camara to play a back pass from around four yards out. It was an even bigger shame as they started the game on the front foot, with Colley forcing Martinez into a save as well as nearly finding that top right corner. Ugrinic was also a bug threat from set-pieces, but in the second half, all the attacking threats died down.
ASTON VILLA WIN ON THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE OPENING NIGHT! Unai Emery's men will be buzzing after such a good win away in Switzerland. They didn’t exactly start the game on fire, as Young Boys had the better of them in the opening exchanges. However, they soon found their groove in the match. The opening goal came from a very clever set-piece routine.McGinn, from a short corner, crossed to the back post. The floated ball found Tielemans free on the right side of the area. He had one touch to bring it down before firing into the bottom left corner. Not long after that goal, Villa doubled their lead with one of the maddest goals you’ll likely see. Camara played a dreadful back pass to Von Ballmoos. Von Ballmoos smashed into Watkins instead of the ball, but it fell to Ramsey, who had an open goal. They would have felt unlucky not to have a third before the break as Watkins smashed a strike into the left side of the goal. It was disallowed by VAR for offside, which seemed rather harsh at the time. They coasted in the second half, showing how mature they are to see games out before Onana smashed a shot into the bottom left corner to top the night off.

Barkley carries the ball forward on the left side as he tries to find Buendia. He switches it over to McGinn, who waits for Konsa on the overlap. His pass has far too much on it, though as Konsa can only cross it in when the ball rolls out.

SHOT! Martinez boots a long free-kick looking for Duran. Camara heads it out to Konsa on the right wing. He runs back but is tripped over by Hales, so he wins a free-kick. Konsa clips it into Buendia, who holds it in the corner. He moves away from his man into the box. He finds Duran, who has a shot which is blocked.

Unai Emery has made a triple change as the game is now won. Tielemans, Rogers and Digne are off. Maatsen is on at left-back. Barkley is on in midfield whilst Buendia is on the left flank.
