SHOT! Juranovic tried to cut a pass inside from the right but it was poor. Although, it ricochets off the Tunisian defenders and onto the path of Ivanusec whose shot lacks power and is straight at the keeper.

Ali Abdi puts the ball into the roof of the net as the keeper dives to the left.

TUNISIA STEALS THE LEAD... BUT IT'S GIVEN OFFSIDE! They win a free-kick on the right and Ben Romdhane stands over it. He whips in a brilliant ball into the box and Jelassi heads it inside the left post. But VAR is checking an offside here... and it's ruled out. Jelassi was offside!

Hamza Jelassi can't convert the spot kick. It goes narrowly wide of the right post. The keeper dived the other way.

Romdhane also chooses the left side and slots it past the keeper who judged right. 

Kovacic links with Ivanusec down the left but Kechrida patiently waits and slides in to intercept. Tunisia get it clear.

SAVE! Brozovic pokes the ball forward to Ivanusec on the left who curls a lovely pass into the feet of Kramaric. He runs forward but can’t get away from Jelassi and loses the ball. 

CROATIA TEAM NEWS: It's once again a center-back pairing of Erlic and Gvardiol but they will be supported by Juranovic and Sosa who are on fullback duties. The midfield pairing is of Modric and Brozovic while Kovacic will support Kramaric in attack.

Croatia kick us off and we're underway here in Cairo. They opt to keep possession inside their half.

Kovacic plays a neat one-two with Juranovic advancing down the right. His final ball lets him down as he swings a cross behind for a goal-kick. 

Kramaric initially does well to get away from Abdi on the left by turning cleverly away from him. However, his following touch is too heavy and he can’t keep it in play. 

OVER! Tunisia tries to play out from the back and loses the ball. Kovaci finds Kramaric on the edge of the box but his quick shot goes well over the bar.

Abdi nods it down to Jelassi. He passes inside to Laidouni who goes forward to Abdi making a run on the left. The pass is just overhit though and goes out. 

Three changes for Croatia. Caleta-Car, Vlasic, and Pasalic are on for Erlic, Modric, and Brozovic. 

Following their impressive World Cup campaign and success in the UEFA Nations League, Croatia found themselves in a promising position until unexpected losses to Turkey and Wales jeopardized their Euro 2024 qualification. However, crucial victories against Latvia and Armenia, coupled with results elsewhere, secured their progression.

Petkovic stayed down after an aerial battle with Jelassi. Jelassi's right arm caught Petkovic on the face. He is soon up and will continue.

Tunisia looks for a long ball down the right through Kechrida. Gvardiol mops up the danger and Croatia keep possession on their defensive line. 

First significant attack for Tunisia. Croatia lost it high up the field and Tunisia countered through a long pass forward for Rafia to chase. Erlic got in between him and the ball and had to kick it out under pressure. The resulting corner off the right is easily cleared. 

An intelligent run from Kramaric draws defenders away from Petkovic just inside the box on the right. He is picked out by Majer, but is unable to make space for a shot after a heavy first touch. 

Croatia has dominated possession throughout the first half, dictating the tempo of the game with their crisp passing and movement. However, despite their territorial advantage, they have struggled to carve out clear-cut opportunities in the final third, with their attacks often lacking the incisiveness needed to trouble the Tunisian defense.

Both teams are now out on the field. The Tunisian national anthem is first, followed by the Croatian one. Kick-off comes next. Don't go anywhere. 

Two more changes for Croatia. Majer replaces Kovacic in midfield while Petkovic comes on for Ivanusec out wide.

Modric lobs a pass forward to Sosa on the left. He has the chance to cross it but decides to pass back. Croatia continue to keep possession. 

Tunisia now gets to spend some time on the ball. Jelassi tries to lob a pass forward for Achouri to chase. He gets there but is then given offside. 

Tunisia and Croatia face off in the Egyptian capital Cairo in one of the many games being played in the brand-new FIFA Series this week.

Majer goes into the book for being too vocal after not getting a throw-in decision on the left. 

BLOCK! Tunisia brings it forward after Jelassi finds Kechrida on the right. His cross falls to Abdi inside the left side of the box but Brozovic stays with him and manages to get a good block to deny him a shot on target. 

Andrej Kramaricsends a lobbed pass into the box, but his attempt is thwarted and cleared by Jelassi. 

The crowd is going wild whenever Modric touches the ball. A good experience for the locals to see one of the game's greats. Luka, Luka is the chant. 

Croatia wins a free-kick in the attacking third and Modric stands over it. He lobs it into the box but Ghandri is there to head clear. Modric plays the resulting corner short. 

Neat passing from Croatia as Kovacic finds Juranovic on the right. He sends a cross in for Modric inside the box but it's just too high. 

Mario Pasalic wins the battle of wills and sends an unstoppable penalty low into the middle of the goal. The keeper dived to the left.

We are going to penalties! Croatia will take the first kick. 

In the end, it was Croatia who emerged victorious, prevailing in the penalty shootout after Tunisia's Haddadi missed his crucial spot-kick. Croatia's composure from the penalty spot proved decisive, as they held their nerve to secure the win and advance to the final against Egypt. Despite the disappointment for Tunisia, they can take pride in their performance, having pushed Croatia to the limit in a tightly contested match that ultimately hinged on the drama of penalties. They will face New Zealand in the third place play-off. 

A training ground routine in terms of passing for Croatia. They continue to keep all the possession in midfield as Tunisia are comfortable sitting back. 

On the other hand, Tunisia, despite seeing less of the ball, managed to break the deadlock momentarily through Jelassi's headed finish off Romdhane's well-delivered free kick. However, their joy was short-lived as the goal was disallowed following a VAR review, ruling Jelassi offside. Nevertheless, this close call has injected a sense of urgency into the Tunisian side, as they seek to capitalize on any further opportunities that may come their way in the second half. With both teams evenly matched and the scoreline still level, the stage is set for an intriguing second half. Don't go anywhere...

Majer slots it inside the right post. The keeper judged it right but couldn't get to it. 

A change in attack for Tunisia as Jaziri replaces Achouri. 

SAVE! Modric finds Sosa on the left and his cross is headed clear by Jelassi. Croatia recycles it to Juranovic whose cross towards the left side of the box is good. Kramaric meets it but it's a tame header that goes straight into the keeper's gloves. 

Jelassi goes down holding his right leg. It seems serious as he's carried to the side of the pitch. 

Kramaric rolls it inside the right post as the keeper dives the other way. 

Lone change in attack for Tunisia as Rafia, who had minimal involvement, comes off for Ltaief. 

Oussama Haddadi shoots to the bottom right corner, but Ivusic leaps out to save his effort.

Juranovic has more space on the right after receiving Modric's pass. He lobs another cross into the box but has no runners. Jelassi heads clear again. 

Laidouni goes to the right and scores as the keeper judges it wrong. 

CHANCE! Some scarce possession for Tunisia and they work it well as Jelassi finds Kechrida in space on the right. His cross falls to Ali Abdi inside the left side of the box who is unmarked. He should at least hit the target but his shot goes high and wide to the right.

And we're back underway for the second half as Tunisia kicks off. Croatia have made one change at the break as the goalkeeper Livakovic is replaced by Ivusic. 

Bruno Petkovic calmly steps up and smashes the ball into the bottom right corner. The keeper got a faint touch but couldn't keep it out.

Croatia continue to attack the right side of the field and win a free kick. Modric delivers it towards the left side of the box but Jelassi wins the header and clears for Tunisia. 

Croatia wins a corner off the left and Petrovic's cross is headed clear. It falls to Pasalic on the edge of the box who shifts to his left before striking a powerful shot towards the left. The keeper went down and held onto it.

Juranovic attempted to put the ball into the bottom left corner, but the goalkeeper was there in time to deny him.

CHANCE! Croatia put numbers forward and Tunisia took the chance to counter. A precise cross into the box from Achouri found Sayfallah Ltaief, whose header floated just over the bar. Should've done better.

Despite their advancement, Croatia faces a daunting challenge in a tough Euro group featuring Italy, Spain, and Albania. As Zlatko Dalic prepares his team for upcoming friendlies, he aims to ensure they enter this challenging phase in optimal form.

Brozovic combines with Modric to break past the Tunisia press. They spread the ball to the left but the passing is poor from Kramaric who gives it away.

Kramaric plays an inch-perfect pass to Petkovic on the left who was charging into the penalty area. Jelassi does really well to recover however and makes a fine block to deny him the chance. 

As the final whistle blew, the match concluded in a goalless draw, with neither Croatia nor Tunisia able to break the deadlock during regulation time. Despite Croatia's dominance in possession and territorial advantage, they struggled to convert their opportunities into goals, with Tunisia's resolute defense holding firm throughout the match. Both teams displayed determination and resilience, but ultimately, the game remained evenly poised, leading to a tense penalty shootout to decide the winner.

Kovacic, Ivanusec, and Pasalic combine well on the right. Kovacic then tries to send a cross in but Abdi blocks it. 

Modric spots the run of Sosa inside the left side of the box and lobs a pass towards him. But Kechrida reads it well and heads clear before it can reach Sosa. 

Welcome back everyone for the live coverage of this ACUD Cup semi-final between Tunisia and Croatia. I am Sanil Karan and I will be bringing you all the action as it unfolds. 

Jaziri failed to beat the goalkeeper from the penalty spot with a shot into the bottom left corner as the keeper saved it.

Kechrida is walking on a very thin line as he commits another dangerous foul on the left. He escapes a second booking this time. Modric lifts the free-kick into the six-yard box but the keeper rises highest to claim it. 

WIDE! Juranovic has space again on the right and his precise cross is aimed towards the penalty spot. It is met by Brozovic who outjumps the defense and produces a decent header that went a whisker wide of the right post.

OVER! Croatia wins another corner from the left and Petkovic stands over it. His cross finds the head of Carlter-Car and he should better as it goes high over the bar. 

Vlasic fires his penalty towards the left and the keeper judges it right to stop it. 

Modric lobs a pass towards Juranovic on the right who wins a corner off Abdi. Modric delivers it but it's easily cleared. 

Marco Pasalic confidently powers his spot-kick into the left side of the goal. The keeper dived the other way. 

WIDE! Croatia maintains possession in the attacking third. Luka Ivanusec takes a short pass in his stride and attempts to beat the keeper from mid-range, but the shot screeches just wide of the right post.

With all the Croatia possession, frustration was imminent from Tunisia. Juranovic gets past Kechrida on the right and has his feet kicked by the defender. Kechrida is booked for it.

Kovacic gives possession away on halfway and Jelassi feeds Rafia to feet. He knocks back to Kechrida but he loses the ball with a heavy touch. 

Kramaric finds the run of Sosa on the left who crosses in for Petkovic. But it was a poor effort from Petkovic as he headed it down before the defender blocked him so that the keeper could comfortably claim. Jelassi has also beaten his injury problem and is back on the pitch. 

HANDBALL SHOUT! Jelassi finds Abdi on the overlap on the left. His cross hits the hand of Gvardiol and the Tunisia players shout for a penalty but it's not given. To be fair, the defenders hand was tugged to his side. VAR agrees. 

TUNISIA TEAM NEWS: Ben Said is in goal while the center-back pairing sees Bronn and Ghandari team up. They will be supported by Kechkrida and Abdi who are on fullback duties but will join the attack when required. Jelassi and Laidouni pair up in the middle of the park. Rafia is the lone Striker with Achouri and Haddadi out wide.

Croatia attack down the left and Sosa swings in a good cross from the touchline. His cross is inches too high for the onrushing Kramaric, and Petkovic is unable to do anything as he picks up possession on the far side. 

OVER! Kramaric wins another corner from the left and it once again finds the free head of a Croatian. But Gvardiol glances his header high and wide to the right. 

Having triumphed in their initial qualifiers and with an expanded format for the 2026 tournament, Tunisia aims for a third consecutive World Cup appearance. However, their recent struggles underscore the need for a strong showing in upcoming matches. Louhichi's interim leadership adds uncertainty to their campaign, highlighting the pressure on Tunisia to deliver and secure their place in football's most prestigious event. This match against Croatia will show them where they stand in the current football pyramid.

Tunisia seeks solace in their familiar North African climate as they brace for an important match following a disappointing Africa Cup of Nations campaign.
