That's it for this match but stay tuned to Tribe as the heavyweight quarter-final clash between Uruguay and Brazil kicks off in less than an hour and we'll bring you all the action from that game. This is Sanil Karan signing off for now.
Colombia confidently advance to the semi-finals, where they will face either Uruguay or Brazil. Meanwhile, Panama's debut Copa America knockout match concludes with their two-match winning streak coming to an end.
Panama started the second half with nothing to lose but found themselves under pressure. Despite this, their closest opportunity came when Richard Rios' deflected shot from a free-kick routine narrowly missed the target, marking the closest chance post-half-time until twenty minutes remaining. As the match approached its conclusion, Daniel Munoz got a half-touch near the edge of the box and Rios seized on the loose ball and unleashed a powerful strike past Mosquera. In injury time, a reckless challenge by Jose Cordoba on Santiago Arias resulted in Colombia's second penalty of the night, which Miguel Borja calmly converted to seal a decisive victory.
Within the first eight minutes, James Rodriguez's precise corner found Jhon Cordoba, who headed home from close range. Just minutes later, Rodriguez converted a penalty after Jhon Arias was fouled in the box, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way. Panama briefly threatened with a free-kick that saw Roderick Miller's header hitting the post. Rodriguez then sealed Colombia's victory, spotting Luis Diaz's run and delivering a perfectly timed pass that Diaz lifted over the goalkeeper to secure a commanding lead before halftime.
