And finally, the Real Madrid players step onto the stage to collect their gold medals. The moment culminates as captain Luka Modric takes center stage, hoisting the cup high amidst a sea of cheers from fans and teammates alike. It’s another historic triumph for Real Madrid, adding yet another chapter to their unparalleled legacy in world football.
The Pachuca players make their way to the stage to receive their silver medals, a recognition of their valiant efforts throughout the tournament. Though they fell short in the final, their journey was marked by resilience and moments of brilliance that earned them a well-deserved place in the spotlight.
Elias Montiel of Pachuca receives the Bronze Ball for his impressive performances throughout the tournament. The Silver Ball goes to Real Madrid’s Federico Valverde, who played a crucial role in his side’s midfield, showcasing both defensive solidity and creative flair. Meanwhile, the prestigious Golden Ball is awarded to Vinicius Junior who also won the FIFA Men's Best Player Award yesterday.
Real Madrid’s victory was built on a strong defensive display, allowing them to stifle Pachuca’s attacking forays. Courtois made crucial saves when needed, while the defense, anchored by Rudiger and Garcia, held firm under pressure. The midfield duo of Valverde and Camavinga provided the perfect balance, with their energy keeping Pachuca’s midfielders at bay. Going forward, Vinicius and Mbappe were a constant threat, combining brilliantly to create and score goals.
Pachuca can take some positives from their performance despite the defeat. They created plenty of chances, especially in the first half, and showed glimpses of their attacking quality. Deossa and Rondon were particularly lively, causing problems for Madrid’s defense. However, their inability to convert these chances and the clinical finishing of Madrid ultimately cost them. The difference in quality and experience ultimately proved decisive, with Madrid’s efficient finishing ensuring a comfortable victory.
In the second half, Real Madrid extended their lead through a superb strike from Rodrygo, which found the top right corner. The goal seemed to deflate Pachuca, who struggled to regain their footing. Madrid continued to press and eventually won a penalty late in the game when Vazquez was brought down in the box. Vinicius stepped up to convert the penalty and seal a comfortable win for Madrid. Pachuca showed plenty of attacking intent throughout the match but were ultimately outclassed by a far superior Madrid side, who were dominant in both defense and attack.
Real Madrid started the match slowly, struggling to find their rhythm as Pachuca pressed them high up the pitch. The Mexicans created several early chances, testing Courtois in goal with some ambitious efforts. However, it was Real Madrid who struck first against the run of play in the 37th minute when Vinicius set up Mbappe, who clinically finished to give the Spaniards the lead. From that moment on, Madrid gradually took control of the game, dictating the tempo and limiting Pachuca’s opportunities.
