The All Whites have marked their return to home soil with a convincing four-goal victory over Malaysia, doubling as their first win over non-OFC opposition in 19 months. Make sure you join us again on Tribe as the international window continues with UEFA Nations League action tomorrow. It's been a pleasure bringing you all the action from North Harbour Stadium tonight. For now, Harrison Ryburn signing out.
As mentioned, the All Whites return to World Cup qualifying action next, with Vanuatu awaiting in Hamiltion next month, followed by Samoa across-town at Mt Smart Stadium. They'll expect two wins from two to send them through to the semi-final stage back here in Aotearoa next March, whilst Malaysia are back in action with a trip to India for another international friendly next month.
A very tough evening for Malaysia in contrast, who looked well out of their depth against the All Whites tonight. They were cast onto the back foot early, and failed to play around the New Zealand press whilst moving the ball out from the back. That pinned the visitors deep inside their own half for the vast majority, and despite trying to open up the game with a higher line and more forward numbers in the second half, they were punished as the All Whites took advantage of the empty space at the back. In all honesty they didn't look too much better then the Tahitian side that New Zealand faced three days ago, and will have to be dissapointed with the lack of punch they displayed on their trip to Albany tonight.
A really good evening for the All Whites, who struggled initially in the first half to put their chances away, but opened up and turned their dominance into goals as the contest wore on. They were on top for the entirety, dictating possession and territory throughout, and pinning Malaysia inside their own half with the work of their high press. Bazeley's men were perhaps guilty of playing a little bit too route one early on, just as they did in Tahiti three days ago, but flicked a switch after the half-time talk, and improved the accuracy of the build-up and delivery play in the second stanza, running up a score with some lethal finishing. Both Liberato Cacace and Matthew Garbett were particuarly impressive, injecting themselves into the attack, and winning possession on a number of occasions, whilst Marko Stamenic and Elijah Just also stood out.
Fulltime at North Harbour Stadium and New Zealand have recorded their first win over non-Oceania opposition in 19 months, with a comprehensive four-goal victory over Malaysia. After spurning a number of guilt-edged chances in the first half, the All Whites found their shooting boots in the second stanza, pulling away on the scoreboard with goals from Elijah Just, Matthew Garbett, Chris Wood, and Logan Rogerson. It caps off a tremendous return to home soil for Darren Bazeley's men, and they were outstanding at times in the second half, with the possibility of four more home matches to come as World Cup qualifying resumes next month.

CRACKING STRIKE FROM ROGERSON! THE SUBSTITUTE ADDS THE ICING ON THE CAKE! And Rogerson scores just his second international goal to cap a superb second half performance from the All Whites! The winger picks up possession in space near the top right corner of the box, as the hosts come forward in numbers again. Again Malaysia offer up far too much space in the final third, and Rogerson opens up on his right foot for a shot, before picking out the top left corner of the net with the help of the woodwork. That will complete a comprehensive evening for Bazeley's men.

CHANCE! Kutty wins a free kick up over halfway from the Malaysian throw, and their fans let out a few more chants as the clock ticks down on their New Zealand adventure. It comes back for Tan to control, but the defender gives it away under pressure from Wood, who advances to the byline and finds Rogerson in support on the left. The latter powers a low delivery to the penalty spot for Barbarouses, who powers his first-time effort high over the crossbar from right in front.

Possession comes back for Bindon and Boxall to control on halfway, and the All Whites reset once more. Malaysia sit deep into their defensive shape, and a long ball from Sutton out to the left beats Just over the sideline.
