Fulltime in Athens and two first half goals have propelled Greece to a comfortable victory. The All Whites were better in the second stanza, but this was ultimately another disappointing performance from Bazeley's men. They were devoid of answers for the majority, lacking accuracy and composure with the ball, and were consistently exposed at the back. Greece took the foot off the pedal after their dominant opening stanza performance, with Konstantelias and and Giakoumakis scoring the goals as they blitzed the All Whites early on. The hosts completely overran the New Zealand defence during that first forty-five, stretching their opposition from side to side and finding acres of space in the penalty box. Bindon and Smith were caught out, alongside Woud for the first goal, and the All Whites couldn't match their opponents when Greece went full throttle. Nevertheless, they did look a lot better in the second half, with Just and Champness in particular catching the eye off the bench. Bazeley would have wanted a lot more from his starters though, and they have the chance to build from this showing in Dublin on Tuesday.
