England continue their preparations for Euro 2024 with one final warm-up game on Friday night against Iceland at Wembley. Gareth Southgate will then name his final 26-man squad and decide which seven players to leave behind as they fly to Germany next Monday. Bosnia & Herzegovina travel to Italy on Sunday to help the Euro 2020 winners with their final preparations in another friendly fixture.
It was all going so well for Bosnia & Herzegovina until late in the day here. Nobody expected them to get a result, but in the first half they defended doggedly and showed some bright sparks going forward. In the second half they found themselves on the back foot more and struggled to get any forward momentum. It will disappoint their new coach Sergej Barbarez that they weren't able to test Jordan Pickford in the England goal all night. Two late goals conceded will also be something they may look at, but by that stage many changes had been made off both benches.
Gareth Southgate will be satisfied enough at what he saw here. No injuries were picked up and many of his squad players got valuable minutes in ahead of Euro 2024 kicking off next week. It was clear which players staked their claim tonight, with Trent Alexander-Arnold particularly impressive and Cole Palmer and Eberechi Eze bright with the ball at their feet. Harry Kane made a big difference coming on as the central striker in the final third of the game, while Ezri Konsa also did his chances no harm at right back. Conor Gallagher looks a solid option in the midfield, while Jack Grealish was very lively off the bench. It will be interesting to see which players go on to get one further chance to impress against Iceland on Friday.
A much-improved second half performance ensures England leave Newcastle with a three-goal victory tonight. Two late goals from Trent Alexander-Arnold and Harry Kane added the gloss after Cole Palmer's penalty broke the deadlock an hour in. Bosnia & Herzegovina battled gamely but couldn't keep the score down in the latter stages.

Nikola Vasilj sends a pass out to his right but there's a miscommunication between two Bosnia defenders and the ball is allowed to run into touch. England take the throw and move possession back across their defensive line.
England are content to knock the ball around as we play out four additional minutes here.

HARRY KANE JABS IT HOME TO MAKE IT THREE FOR ENGLAND! From a short corner Jack Grealish finds James Maddison down the left side of the penalty area. He cuts it back to Jarrod Bowen who fires a low effort across goal towards the bottom right corner. Ezri Konsa gets in the way and deflects it off a Bosnia defender. The ball falls kindly for Harry Kane to guide a strike in from six yards out. Nikola Vasilj gets his legs on it but can't keep the ball from crossing the line. England have a three-goal advantage late on.
