That's it for this match but stay tuned to Tribe as Belgium v. Romania is less than an hour away. This is Sanil Karan signing off for now.
Portugal secured their spot in the knockout stage and have maintained an undefeated record in the Euros against teams ranked outside the top 20 since their loss in the 2004 final. Meanwhile, Turkey needs just a draw against Czechia in their final group match to advance to the knockout rounds for the first time in 16 years.
Despite the introduction of talented youngster Arda Guler for Turkey, they struggled to change the course of the game. Portugal, satisfied with their lead, adopted a defensive stance under Roberto Martínez's guidance, effectively snuffing out any hopes of Turkey finding a late consolation goal.
Ten minutes into the second half, Portugal capitalized on further defensive lapses from Turkey to score their third goal effortlessly. A disorganized Turkish defense kept Cristiano Ronaldo onside, enabling him to chase Rúben Neves' long pass and approach the goal unchallenged. Ronaldo then drew the goalkeeper towards him before passing to Fernandes, who calmly tapped the ball into an open net.
Turkey made four changes to their starting lineup from their previous win over Georgia, with goalkeeper Altay Bayındır immediately tested by Cristiano Ronaldo's early volley from Bernardo Silva's cross. Despite Kerem Akturkoglu's inclusion following his goal against Georgia, he missed a crucial chance from Zeki Celik's cross just minutes later. Midway through the first half, Portugal capitalized on their opportunities when Rafael Leão and Nuno Mendes combined on the left, leading to Bernardo Silva scoring. The lead was extended in bizarre fashion seven minutes later as Samet Akaydin's back pass resulted in an own goal, evading Bayındır and crossing the line despite Zeki Celik's efforts. Despite Akturkoglu almost responding with a chance soon after, saved by Diogo Costa, Bruno Fernandes and Ronaldo couldn't convert further opportunities before halftime.
PORTUGAL ARE THROUGH TO THE KNOCKOUTS!
90+5'
Fernandes locates Ruben Neves, who quickly attempts a shot from long range, but the effort lacks composure and sails high over the crossbar, missing the target by a significant margin.
90+4'
Celik earns a corner kick for Turkey from the right flank, and Guler steps up to take it. His delivery into the box is well-placed, but Ruben Dias rises highest to head the ball clear, thwarting Turkey's attempt to create a scoring opportunity from the set-piece.
90+2'
Semedo releases Bernardo Silva inside the right side of the box, where he goes down under a challenge from Calhanoglu. Initially waved off by the referee, the incident undergoes a brief VAR review. Ultimately, the decision stands as the contact is deemed minimal, resulting in no penalty awarded to Portugal.
