Ukraine continued to build momentum as a cohesive unit and seized the lead with just ten minutes remaining, as Shaparenko turned provider with a deft flick-on pass into the box for substitute Roman Yaremchuk, who poked the ball past Dubravka. Slovakia struggled to respond, and Ukraine gained a significant boost after their disappointing performance on matchday one.
