Switzerland have Scotland next up which they will think they can win after how good they were today against Hungary as well as the fact that Scotland were so poor. Worringly for Hungary they have Germany next so they may fear a battering but they need a result otherwise they may already be out of the tournament.
Hungary had a terrible first half as they didn't know how to cope with Switzerland who had Xhaka running things in midfield. In the second half Marco Rossi made some changes which had a positive impact. Their goal came from Bolla sprinting infield before they worked it over to Szoboszlai on the left. He cut inside to put a cross into the back post finding Varga. The forward got past Aebischer to head the ball past Sommer but after that Hungary couldn't get another one. There were many more positives though in the second 45 minutes which Rossi will want to build on especially as Szoboszlai had a bigger impact in attack in the last 25 minutes. Hungary need him if they are going to proceed in this group.
SWITZERLAND START THEIR EUROS OFF WITH AN IMPRESSIVE VICTORY! It only took 12 minutes for Switzerland to get off the mark here as Aebischer found Duah with a precise through ball. He slotted the ball home but the flag went up for offside. After a VAR check though the goal was given. After that they dominated the game and then just before half-time they got their reward. Freuler kept an attack alive on the edge of the box passing it onto Aebischer. He cut inside on his right foot bending a curling shot into the bottom right corner. In the second half Hungary got back into it but Embolo off the bench playing his first game for Switzerland since the 2022 World Cup wrapped things up. He got on the end of a loose header from Orban before lobbing Gulasci in style.

CHANCE! Switzerland clear a cross from the left as they counter-attack on the right. Embolo is clean through with some options to his left. He gets into the box before trying to find Amdouni but his pass has just too much on it. Xhaka sprints over to the corner flag to keep the ball in play.

SWITZERLAND HAVE THE VICTORY IN THE BAG! Sommer goes direct with a kick right down the middle of the pitch. Orban gets his header all wrong as he inadvertently puts Embolo through on goal. He chests it down then lobs the ball over Gulasci with his right foot. What a moment for Embolo!

OFF THE LINE! Embolo does well to win the ball on the left flank. He brings it forward then slips Rieder in on goal. Rieder touches it past Gulasci to the left of him but he takes it too wide. From a difficult angle he shoots but Orban is there to boot the ball away.
