So another quarter-final match up is set. Spain will play Germany in Stuttgart in a few days' time in an absolutely colossal match. But, that's all from me for this match between Spain and Georgia. I've been Danny Johnston, thanks for following along live on Tribe.
Georgia will be so proud of their efforts not only tonight but for this whole tournament. Heavily unfavoured, even making it to this stage was so impressive. In the second half, they were not able to threaten Simon's goal much as they continued to not see much of the ball. But, what could've been if Kvaratskhelia's heroic effort from inside his half nestled inside the post early in the second half. It wasn't to be for Georgia who in the end were outclassed by a truly quality outfit. The defence couldn't handle the speed of Spain's passing and dribbling and were undone on three occasions in the second 45.
Spain responded well to going a goal behind and that goal just before the break was absolutely crucial. Once Ruiz then found a Spanish second goal, they never looked back. They played some really slick football at times and their wingers were particularly influential. Williams got his goal while Yamal came close on a couple of occasions. They also have got through this match unscathed and so frolic into the next round. This Spanish side is going to take some beating as they continue to hold down the tag of favourites with great performance after performance.
SPAIN LOOK THE REAL DEAL! They come from behind to ultimately emphatically beat Georgia in Cologne. And they set up a blockbuster clash against the hosts Germany in the quarter-finals. Georgia's tournament ends here and it's a Euros for them to remembers. They gave Spain a scare but ultimately the Spanish had too much quality which Georgia could not handle.

Yamal is fouled wide on the right by Kochoroashvili. The resulting free kick is taken short by Navas who is then released by Yamal down the right. Navas flashes in a low cross into the middle but it evades everyone. Williams as in there but he's gone down clutching at his foot. There may have been some minor contact but it appears Williams slipped more than anything.

Merino knocks the ball out to Yamal on the right side of the box. He chips it inside towards the edge of the six yard box for the run of Olmo. He in turn tries to cut a pass back into the middle but Kashia blocks it.

SAVE! Yamal drifts forward, gliding onto his left foot. He lays it back to Olmo at the edge of the area who manages to drive a shot on goal. This was straight down the middle and easily stopped by Mamardashvili.

Williams runs forward down the left side of the box. He cuts back onto his right foot and then smashes a shot on goal. This goes straight into a Georgian defender though.
