That rounds things off from Frankfurt then. Denmark and England play out an entertaining stalemate! This is Nicholas Friedlander signing out.
The Southgate haters will be out in full force after that one. England were second-best after opening the scoring, and at no stage did they really threaten a second goal. The balance of the team looked all wrong to start with, and the triple change with around 20 minutes to go didn't really change much either. On a more positive note, Marc Guehi was all class in the heart of defence, and was easily England's best player. Bukayo Saka was also bright, whilst Phil Foden had some nice moments. That said, expect mass changes ahead of the final group game with Slovenia, where a defeat could leave them in third, and relying on the results of others to sneak in the back door. They must improve.
Denmark should be relatively pleased with that. On the balance of things, one might argue they were worth the three points, but the most imperative thing here was to avoid defeat, keeping things in their own hands heading into the final group match with Serbia, where a win will guarantee they advance as one of the top two sides, rather than needing to rely on the third place lottery. After Hjulmand dominated the first half, Højberg took centre stage in the second half, as the Danes absolutely bossed the midfield.
A goalless second half here means Group C is set up blockbuster finish on Matchday 3. England will be in pole position despite today's draw, but they'll need to improve. They met their match with a sharp Denmark side probably shading the encounter across the 90. Their threat certainly waned, though Pierre-Emile Højberg came close to breaking the deadlock on more than one occasion. Certainly plenty of food for thought with one game to play for both sides.
90+3'
Eze tries to skip away down the left before working centrally but he had it knocked away. England controlled it, but couldn't find an opening as the full-time whistle was sounded.
90+2'
Pickford's ball forward is easily cleared, but he is able to launch it again, with it repelled again. With an air of calmness, Norgaard plays it wide to the right to calm things down.
90+1'
A big diagonal for Watkins is easily won by Bah. Denmark smash it up towards Poulsen, who looked to spin away from Guehi, but he only managed to concede a free kick! England will put this one in the box.

Denmark press up nicely, but England do just enough in playing out to find a throw. This is heading towards a draw, as Eze finds a free kick on halfway.
