That is all from us here at Tribe for coverage of the Group E as Slovakia provide the first upset of Euro 2024 with a shocking yet controversial win over Belgium. Romania and Slovakia now lead the way in the group with three points apiece with Belgium and Ukraine needing a reaction in their next games. I'm Andrew Smith and thank you for joining me. Until next time!
What a miserable day for everyone involved with Belgium. Not only did they play badly and were outfought by a team much further down the world rankings, but those two VAR decisions will definitely leave a sour taste. The first was warranted, but the second marks the first bit of controversy at Euro 2024. The fact we saw a snickometer used to detect the handball from Lois Openda says it all really. Referees are being left with no room for interpretation. It will be interesting to hear what Domenico Tedesco thinks about that in his post-match press conference.
SLOVAKIA SHOCK BELGIUM! Full-time here in Frankfurt and we have the first shock of Euro 2024! Slovakia - ranked 48th in the world - have beaten Belgium - ranked third in the world - thanks to Ivan Schranz's early strike. Hands up if you saw that one coming. Romelu Lukaku did respond twice for Belgium, but twice his efforts were ruled out after impressively quick VAR reviews. The first was a fair offside call, but the second is exactly why VAR has gathered a poor reputation. It was harsh and VAR went looking for the error. Having said that, Slovakia were fully deserved of the victory and have left everything out on the pitch to fight for what is an invaluable three points. As for Belgium, they were massively disappointing and their misery in major tournaments looks like continuing unless they can perform in their final two group stage games.

That pretty much sums Belgium up. Debast has the ball on halfway, under no pressure and yet he spoons a cross into the box that not even Usain Bolt could get on the end of. Slovakia can smell it now!

Ondrej Duda makes way for Adam Obert for Slovakia. What a performance from the Hellas Verona midfielder.

SHOT! Kevin De Bruyne picks up the ball after another menacing run by Lois Openda and tries to tuck a shot past Martin Dubravka from inside the area, but his effort lacks a lot of power as the Newcastle keeper gets behind it rather easily.

SHOT! Belgium still believe as Bakayoko lets fly from the top of the box but gets the connection all wrong as the ball flies well over the bar.
