The crowd roars as Mike Maignan touches the ball inside his own half, such has been the domination of his outfield teammates.

That's all from the Allianz Riviera as France dominate Gibraltar in Nice. I've been Craig Resnik-Hanson for Tribe. We hope you've enjoyed our commentary of this UEFA Euro 2024 qualiying game. Ball is whipped in by Theo from the edge of the box on the left. Scramble in the box as several players on the Gibraltar line scrap for the ball, Fofana among them. It breaks for Coman on the edge of the five-yard box, centre of the goal. He easily finds the net to make it six.


They are already guaranteed to top the group and are en route to achieving a 100% qualifying campaign for a European Championship for just the third time. Gibraltar are certified minnows and have yet to secure either a point or a goal from the group.

And we're underway at the Allianz Riviera as France begin the proceedings in their famous blue and white. Thuram takes the kick off playing the ball back along the ground to Zaire-Emery in midfield, as Les Bleus begin playing the ball along the ground on the half way line with steady possession.

CHANCE! Marcus Thuram again comes close, heading just wide of the left post from dead centre about 10 yards from goal, as he connects with another inviting cross from Coman on the right side. The two are connecting very well but Thuram cannot add to his tally.

Things go from bad to worse for Gibraltar and it could be a cricket score now. Ethan Santos is sent off, following a VAR review, for recklessly bringing down Zaire-Emery in the box as he scored his first international goal. The youngster forced to leave the field permanently with an injury. He will be substituted shortly. 10 vs 10 for now.

SHOT! Griezmann whips a corner in powerfully from the right hand side as Thuram finds space at the front of the pack and rises well to connect with the header, but it flies over the bar.

France's child wonder Zaire-Emery gets a third for France. The 17-year-old breaks just left of the centre circle into the Gibraltar half, plays the ball to his right to an onrushing Kingsley Coman, who carries to the right edge of the box. The winger cuts the ball back inside for Zaire-Emery, who continued his run, to smash home from the right side of the box about 10 yards out. No chance for the keeper.

Lovely give and go on the edge of the Gibraltar box on the right side by Clauss and Griezmann, before the ball finds Coman overlapping onto the right byline. His cut back is collected by Coleing to the relief of the Gibraltar defence.

Clauss drives down the right flank and puts in a wonderful cross all the way across goal to find Mbappe just inside the box running on to the ball. His effort narrowly misses the left post.

French players appeal for a penalty for handball. A lovely bit of play around the Gibraltar box by Les Bleus as the ball eventually lands at Mbappe's feet just to the right of the D. His strike rebounds into the air and appears to hit a Gibraltar arm but nothing given, at least not for now.

France unsurprisingly having the better of the play, mostly camped in Gibraltar's half, apart from the odd journey across the half way line from the minnows, just recycling possession left to right in front of the 18-yard box and waiting for their next opportunity to strike.

For Gibraltar, it's a switch from a 4-1-4-1 to a 4-3-3, as Jayce Olivero drops is benched and replaced at left back by Ethan Santos, Louie Annesley, who played in the hole in their 4-0 defeat against Ireland, is not a part of this squad.

Can the Gibraltareans cause a shock or will it be a routine pumping from the French? We are almost set to find out in Nice!

France continue to pass the ball around at will in the Gibraltar half as their outstanding attacking flair players hunt for yet another goal to heap further misery on their hapless opponents.

CLOSE! Captain Chipolina prevents Griezmann from getting a volley off on goal from just in front of the right post, out for a corner. Good defending.

Big penalty shout initially waved away by the referee, but could VAR take a look? Kingsley Coman surges down the right to the left side of the box, he cuts inside nicely and appears to be body-checked as he falls down. Nothing given, at least initially.

Gibraltar ease the pressure on themselves momentarily as Liam Walker is fouled in his own box by Upamecano. A big shove from the France centre back stops the play and enables goalkeeper Coleing to play a long ball up the pitch from the free kick.

CLOSE! Kingsley Coman wades through the centre of the Gibraltar half, beating multiple men, before reaching the edge of the centre of the box and sliding the ball along the ground to Thuram on the right side about 15 yards from goal. The striker unselfishly rolls the ball across goal looking for Mbappe but Coleling just about manages to intercept with the help of Chipolina.

SHOT! The free kick is whipped in from the right flank just inside the half towards the box. Captain Roy Chipolina connects with a header, which is comfortably saved by Maignan. An attempt on goal for Gibraltar.

CORNER! Griezmann chooses to take a corner from the right side short, perhaps as a show of sympathy after that first half shellacking.

VAR checking for a penalty. Ball hits the hand of Gibraltar winger Casciaro. Looks almost certain to be a penalty.

Kingsley Coman plays in Clauss who cuts inside and drags the ball dangerously back along the byline across goal as Ethan Santos hopelessly flails it into his own net. France wasting no time!

SHOT! Another long-range effort from Rabiot, who collects the ball about 30 yards from goal on his left foot, just on the left side of the half. His tame effort rolls along the ground into the grateful arms of Coleing.

Rare glimmer of hope for Gibraltar. They take a short free kick inside their own half, switch the play to right back and launch a long ball down the wing. Tjay De Barr is released down the left flank but the offside flag goes up to his dismay.

Welcome to Tribe's coverage of this UEFA Euro 2024 qualifiying match from Group B between France and Gibraltar at the Allianz Riviera in Nice. I'm Craig Resnik-Hanson and I'll be talking you through all of the action. Thanks for joining me!

Saliba on for Upamecano as further rotation for France.

Three changes for France as Fresh legs come on. Giroud has likely campaigned for the chance to fill his boots after Thuram missed several chances. The Milan striker replaces him.

FREE KICK! Upamecano commits consecutive fouls as he is too rough with the aerial challenge just inside the France half on the right flank. A second free kick for Gibraltar. A few moments of calm for the visitors.

CHANCE! Fofana wins the ball midway through the Gibraltar half and runs direct towards goal through the middle, thinking past several white shirts and into the box. He lays it off to Thuram whose effort from six-yards out on the right side is stopped by Coleing. Surely Thuram will get another goal soon.

There's an all-new centre-back partnership as Benjamin Pavard and Ibrahima Konate make way for Dayot Upamecano and Jean-Clair Todibo. Liverpool star Konate has left the camp, Pavard didn't make the squad, to some controversy.

Coman gives it to Rabiot in the centre about 25 yards out. He goes for a long ranger with his left foot but doesn't ever catch it right as it sails comfortably wide of the left post.

Nine for France. Kingsley Coman is found about 25 yards out just right of goal. He plays an effortless one-two with Mbappe on the edge of the box, continues his run, and cooly dinks the return ball over the goalkeeper from six or seven yards out to make it nine.

Penalty rightly awarded for the clear handball in the box from Casciaro. The winger escapes without a booking.

Clauss picks up the ball about 20 yards out just in line with the left post. He strikes it hard and low with his right boot straight into the bottom left corner. Wonderful strike. Great way to pick up his first international goal.

That's three France goals from their last three attacks, all in three minutes. Fofana is found by Mbappe on the edge of the box, centre of the goal, perfect position. He strikes low and hard but it's straight at the keeper, who somehow allows it to squirm under him and into the net for a seventh France goal of the evening.

CHANCE! Griezmann is played in behind Gibraltar's back line by Fofana with a nice ball along the ground. He finds himself with just the keeper to beat some 8 yards from goal but his attempted dink is stopped by Coleing and out for a corner. France keep knocking.

Fofana finally comes on for the injured Zaire-Emery.

No surprise to see France run out dominant winners but fourteen goals was certainly a shock, a record-breaking shock for Les Bleus. Gibraltar will lick their wounds and hope that their final qualifying match against the Netherlands will allow them their first goal of the campaign, while France know if they avoid defeat against Greece it's a 100% record for them.

Tjay De Barr actually got going a little there, surging down the left side, before being brought down. He rolls around holding his ankle for some time. No free kick given, but play halted momentarily. He eventually gets back to his feet.

Mbape picks up the ball just inside the Gibraltar half, a few yards to the left of the centre circle. He sees the hopeless Coleing off his line and executes a wonderful chip to score from some 50 yards out. What an outrageous way for the captain to bring up his hat trick! France 12 up again, and no chance of this one being overturned!

Zaire-Emery got hurt scoring his goal and has been down for a while. VAR checking a possible red card for a foul on the goalscorer.

It's best versus worst in Group B as Didier Deschamps' France welcome Gibraltar to Nice. Despite a fair number of selection issues for the home side, it would be a seismic shock were this to be anything other than a routine night at the office for Les Bleus.

Fresh legs for Gibraltar as the weary Chipolina and Walker make way for Olivero and Jolley.

SHOT! Mbappe runs in behind on the right side, gets to the edge of the box on the left side but his weak effort is easily saved by Coleing. Flag goes up. Wouldn't have counted either way.

It's a much-changed lineup for France, for a variety of reasons. They lineup in a 4-2-3-1 as they did last time out against Scotland in October, but there have been some personnel changes, quite a few of them.

Griezmann picks up the ball in the centre and switches it to Coman out on the right about five yards outside the box. He curls yet another cross into the box but it's easily cleared.

Theo picks up the ball on the left side just inside the Gibraltar box. He blasts the ball with his left foot straight at the keeper, who parries it into the air. It comes down and Giroud smashes it into the roof of the net with an overhead kick from some three yards inside the left hand post.

Goalkeeper Coleing down for some time in his own box and appears to be struggling. He eventually returns to his feet after some treatment and launches the ball long into the French half from a free kick.

Dembele collects on the right flank from Clauss, cuts inside onto his left foot on the left corner of the box, then back onto his right, as he edges closer to goal and tears the Gibraltar defenders inside out. He then fires low and hard across goal into the bottom left corner. Beautiful finish.

Theo Hernandez bursts into the box on the left side, reaches the byline and cuts back into the path of captain Kylian Mbappe about 10 yards out on the left. He connects sweetly and strokes into the bottom left corner past a hopeless Coleing.

SHOT! Kingsley Coman goes for the spectacular. He lets go with a long range strike from about 35 yards out at an acute angle on the right flank. The effort sails way over the bar.

However, Kian Ronan and Ethan Britto are not in this squad and their wide berths are taken by the incoming Evan de Haro and Joseph Chipolina. 40-year-old captain Roy Chipolina keeps his place at the heart of defence.

Ball over the top from Fofana finds Griezmann in behind the back four in the centre of the box. He chests the ball down to the left where Giroud runs onto it and hammers it into the bottom right corner past the keeper to make it 13 and break Germany's record for the most goals scored in a Euro qualifying game!

Antoine Greizmann enters the area and fires low and hard but the Gibraltar keeper manages to palm away his effort. However, Marcus Thuram gets the better of Mouelhi on the goalline and scrambles across the line and into the net.

And we're back underway at the Allianz Riviera! Gibraltar kick off from left to right as the ball is played backwards along the ground and the minnows look to keep possession for a few moments.

That's history for France as they establish their largest ever lead over an opponent in European qualifying, by going eleven goals up tonight.

Olivier Giroud makes it twelve for France. Mbappe links up beautifully with Giroud, Holding off a Gibraltar defender with his back to goal in the middle of the box, he lays it off to Giroud who runs onto it on his left foot and strokes it past Coleing into the bottom right corner from 12 yards out. The goal is eventually ruled out for an offside after VAR tells the referee to check on the pitchside monitor.

CLOSE! Ball is fired across from the right by full back Clauss and finds Mbappe in the box right in front of the right post. He goes for a side foot finish first time but strokes the ball just wide. 


Kylian Mbappe cooly converts the penalty. Sends the keeper the wrong way to smash inside of the bottom left post. Four for France.

As predicted pre-match, it's been a walk in the park for the French. However, I don't think many people would have predicted the gulf in class would be quite this vast. Goals from Thuram, Zaire-Emery, Mbappe, Clauss, Coman, Fofana, and an own goal from Ethan Santos to open proceedings, have given France a gigantic lead going into half time.

France continue to dominate proceedings as they search for yet another goal.

Meanwhile, the two centre midfield spots have changed as Real Madrid duo Camavinga and Tchouameni are both injured. PSG wunderkind Warren Zaire-Emery comes in, alongside Adrien Rabiot. Kingsley Coman comes in on the right wing as Marcus Thuram starts up front, in place of Ousmane Dembele and Olivier Giroud who drop to the bench.

Corner from Griezmann comes in. It's unconvincingly flapped at by Coleing and it falls to Rabiot about 10 yards out level with the right post. His first reaction shot is blocked on the line but his second finds its way past the Gibraltar defenders and into the back of the net. Eight for France.

FREE KICK! Ball is swung in from Gibraltar free kick just inside the France half on the right, but it tamely dribbles along the ground and is easily cleared by the first French shirt it finds.

CHANCE! Antoine Griezmann will be disappointed. A ball comes over the top from the right flank and finds Coman near the right side byline in the box. He volleys it back across goal and finds Griezmann unmarked dead centre about 10 yards out but he somehow sends his free header wide of the right post.

CHANCE! Coman picks up the  ball down the right flank, some five yards outside the box. He whips the ball in towards the left post where Thuram slides and flicks out a leg, but he doesn't get a hold of it. The ball bounces off his leg and is easily cleared.

Jamie Coombes comes on to replace striker De Barr, who has worked tirelessly all evening and shown some quality when he's had the rare opportunity to do so.

With Gibraltar down to 10-men, following the red card shown to Santos, who brought Zaire-Emery down badly as the youngster scored his goal, all that is left to see now is how easy France will go on Gibraltar in the second half. If they show Mercy, they might only get 10. If they go all out, we could see a historic scoreline.

Wycombe forward Tjay De Barr moves from out-and-out striker onto the right of a front-three. Liam Walker, who was deployed in an attacking midfield position last time out spearheads that attack. Meanwhile, Nicholas Pozo also keeps his place in the side and remains in the hole behind the striker.

 Meanwhile, Kamara brings fresh legs to the midfield in place of Rabiot. The lively Kingsley Coman gives up his right wing place to Ousmane Dembele.

CHANCE! Kingsley Coman found brilliantly by Fofana with a slide-rule pass inside the Gibraltar defence. He receives the ball about 15 yards from goal just level with the right post. He curls the ball towards the top left corner but it narrowly goes over the bar. Almost a fourth for France.
