ROUND THE KEEPER! BLOCKED! A good run from Koopmeiners as he runs onto a pass that draws Gunn out of his goal, he rounds the keeper and tries to square the ball for a team mate but it is blocked out for a corner. 

An exchange of possession in the middle of the park before McGinn is fouled by Ake, on second look it appears McGinn slipped so he is fortunate to get that free kick. 

CROSS! SHOT! Robertson with a nice run to the by-line on the left and he lays a low cross back that can't quite find a blue shirt but is only cleared to the edge of the box. Gilmour is lurking but doesn't catch his effort well and there is no power behind it as Flekken makes a simple save. 

SHOT! Simons receives a pass on the right and he tries to shoot across Gunn's goal, but drags his effort wide of the post. 

In terms of team news, Steve Clarke of Scotland names a team that includes a number of their top talents. Gilmour and McTominay will be important in midfield, with McGinn roaming further forwards and adding an attacking threat. It looks like Tierney will defend in a central position, allowing Robertson to play on the left. 

Scotland attack down the right with Patterson, who runs down an alleyway before Ake wins the ball to the delight of the home crowd. 

McTominay gets himself in the book with what seems a very harsh decision. He drives with the ball past Simons using his arms to push him away. Simons throws himself to the ground and the referee is convinced, pulling play back and giving the Scottish midfielder a yellow. 

Koeman is the first manager to go to his bench as he makes a double change. Wieffer and Frimpong make way for Veerman and Dumfries. 

SHOT! Simons and Frimpong exchange passes before the latter passes it back to Simons inside the box, he turns sharply and strikes on goal but his low shot is wayward to the left of the goal. 

WIJNALDUM WITH THE HEADER! THE NETHERLANDS DOUBLE THEIR LEAD! Gakpo has a bit of space on the left where he can cut inside and shape to cross, Wijnaldum ghosts into the box and Scotland are loose in their marking. The Dutch midfielder powers a header past the dive of Gunn into the left corner. 

These goals have sucked the life out of Scotland here as the Netherlands move the ball across the back and into midfield. 

Both sides have secured their places in the upcoming Euro 2024 tournament, so this match will be an important part of their preparations to be ready for Germany come June. This final international break before the summer is one of the last chances for players to stake their claim for tournament selection. 

Scotland with some early touches on the ball as they work it around the back, Tierney sends a long pass out towards Robertson who does well to keep it in before the Dutch win possession. 

WHAT A STRIKE! Reijnders finds some space in midfield where he can turn towards goal and get his head up. He winds up a shot and it is a bullet that goes straight into the top corner. Gunn dives across but looks like he couldn't get a good spring to his dive and the ball nestles into the back of the net. Advantage Netherlands. 

CLOSE! A good bit of play at the end of the half by the Netherlands here, they work the ball well and Depay shows some skill to wriggle between a couple of defenders and get himself into the box. He tries to square a ball across from the left but Scotland recover in numbers and after a couple of attempts, finally get the ball clear. 

CROSS! The game is opening up a bit as Malen has his first touch with time and space on the right. He gets his head up and crosses but the cross is behind the runners and Scotland defend. 

BLOCK! Some nice play in the midfield by Christie and Gilmour as the Scots work the ball well across the park. McTominay eventually drifts into space and a clever pass by Robertson finds him in the box. He turns his man and looks to half made space to shoot but the Dutch stay touch tight and his shot is blocked. 

NEARLY! Robertson with an underlapping run that beats the Dutch defensive line and he is racing Ake towards goal. The Manchester City man does well though and gets goal-side before taking the ball off Robertson before he can shoot. 

A short corner kick and then a low cross that the Scots stab away. McGinn nearly gets something going on the counter but can't find the space. 

Simons' free kick is lofted to the back post with the Dutch trying to beat the offside trap of Scotland. It is overhit though and drifts behind for a goal kick. 

PENALTY SHOUT! A clever link up between Depay and Gakpo works some space on the edge of the box. It looks like Gakpo is going to run onto the ball as he enters the area but McTominay comes across to defend. On first look it seems that the Dutch striker was caught and he goes to ground, but the referee wasn't interested. On the replay you can see why, a clear dive by Gakpo. He should have been booked for that really. 

A slight pause in the match as Tierney waits to take a throw-in. There is a small discussion with the fourth official and eventually we have a change in football. 

Take nothing away from the quality showed by the Netherlands in key moments though. Depay and Reijnders played well throughout, whilst Malen made a big impact off the bench. If the Dutch can tidy up some things at the back in possession, and continue to offer that sort of exciting movement up top, they will be a contender come Euro 2024. 

McTominay loses the ball in midfield and Depay looks to pounce and counter straight up the middle. Some good recovery runs from the Scottish defensive unit do well to squeeze out his space and win the ball back. 

For the home side, Premier League rivals van Dijk and Ake are in the back 4. Wijnaldum of the Saudi Pro League starts in midfield and it is a dynamic front line of Depay, Gakpo and Simons. The 6th ranked nation will be eager to put in a solid performance in front of a home crowd here in Amsterdam. 

OVER! Gunn goes long but the Dutch win the long ball. Ake and van Dijk take their time shifting the ball around the half-hearted Scottish press as the Dutch progress up the pitch. The game looks to be drifting to a close before Koopmeiners clips a switch pass to Malen's run on the far side, he takes it first time but can't control his effort!

Hello and welcome to TRIBE's live coverage of this international friendly between the Netherlands and Scotland. I'm Sam Smith and I'll be bringing you all of the action as it unfolds from the Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam. 

Some tidy play from the Dutch as they enjoy their best spell of sustained possession and move the ball side to side, all the way from Ake to Frimpong with almost everyone getting a touch. 

Scotland on the ball now and they go left to right, Gilmour tries to turn and face forward but can't see any runners as the Scots continue to go side to side. 

WEGHORST FROM THE CORNER! The big man rises at the back post area off the Veerman cross. McTominay gets lost underneath the ball and so it is an unchallenged header that the Dutch striker makes no mistake in powering back across goal and into the back of the net. 

A good interception by Robertson who then drives with the ball down the left and passes inside, the Scots try to work the ball to Patterson on the right but he can't find a pass through the Dutch defence. 

The Netherlands play the ball around the back before Ake plays a lofted ball into midfield that Scotland intercept. They play to Patterson but a bit of poor play from the defender gives the ball back to the home side. 

BLOCK! A dangerous free kick for the Netherlands on the edge of the box, it looked a bit soft but the referee says foul. Depay lines it up and tries to go over the wall, but the wall stands tall and blocks his effort. 

A CLINICAL PERFORMANCE FROM THE NETHERLANDS! The home side showed their quality in front of goal tonight and have put four past Scotland despite the Scots playing far better than the scoreline suggests. The away side will be really disappointed with the way the score blew out in the end, after a first half where they were arguably the better side and they spurned some clear chances at the start of the second half to bring the game level.

SAVE! The Netherlands with an attack of their own, a super spin by Depay on the ball gives him a chance to shoot on goal. Under heavy attention by the Scottish defence he prods an effort low to the right but its a super stop by Gunn who parries it away. 

SAVE! HEADER! Quickly back down the other end and on the right McGinn comes onto a nice pass that sits up for him to volley an effort on goal. Flekken can only push it away and the Scots are first to the rebound. A cross is then put into the box and Christie is free, he rises high to head it but only wide of the post. 

BLOCK! SHOT! Wijnaldum makes a run behind the Scottish defence, getting played in nicely before cutting back and feeding Malen on the other side. He shoots but it is blocked by the defence. The Netherlands then work the ball to Gakpo who lines one up on his right but shoots wide. 

A blatant tactical foul in midfield as McGinn wrestles Gakpo to the ground who was on the wrong side of the Scotsman. Free kick for the Netherlands in the middle of the Scottish half. 

Some good possession for the Netherlands as they are now camped in the Scottish half and work the ball around. Frimpong tries to work some space to cross but Robertson does well to close him out and force him to turn back. 

Gilmour is fouled on the right as Gakpo comes clattering into the back of him. The free kick is in a crossing position and the ball is whipped into the box but only into the hands of Flekken. He releases Frimpong on the counter who charges down the right but his cross isn't great either and Scotland defend. 

Clarke makes another change with McGinn coming off to be replaced by McLean. 

The sides are making their way back on to the pitch now, stay tuned for the second half updates shortly! 

Gakpo runs behind the Scottish backline and a pass is lifted over the top towards him. Gunn is alert though and off his line quickly to make a clearance. There is a coming together between the 2 players but both are fine to continue. 

Memphis Depay wriggles on the ball in the middle of the park before a loose touch and the ball is rolling away from him and towards McTominay. He lunges to try and make a challenge but is off balance and goes over the ball, catching McTominay. The ref is quick to get a yellow out and calm the situation down with the Scots unhappy with the challenge. 

BIG CHANCE! WIDE! Flekken passes the ball into midfield but Gilmour reads it and wins possession, he lays it to Shankland who then gives it back quickly for Gilmour to strike. His effort is blocked by the recovering defender and spins off the Dutch boot but out for a corner. 

HEADER! Shankland links up play, receiving a pass and looking to feed Patterson out on the right. The forward then runs into the box and Patterson finds him with an early cross, but Shankland can't keep his header on target and it loops wide. Good centre forward play that. 

Scotland get us underway with a ball over the top but the Netherlands win it back and try to release Depay into the right channel. The crowd roars him on but he is crowded out towards the sideline and eventually the ball is out for a Scotland throw. 

MALEN WITH SOME MAGIC! A really clever pass from Reijnders finds Malen's movement up top. He still has a lot of work to do but shows good skill and strength to hold off two Scottish defenders and then get his body set to finish calmly into the bottom right corner. This is a really disappointing end for Scotland who have played well but let themselves down in key moments. 

HEADER! WIDE! McTominay should have scored here, McGinn with a great cross which finds McTominay at the back post area. The ball skims off his head and wide, maybe there was just enough contact by the defender but the big Scot probably should have done better there. 

CROSS! Back down the other end and McTominay does well to slide in Patterson, he crosses but van Dijk is there to head it away. 

OFFSIDE! A clever run from Gakpo as he receives a ball over the top and looks to round the keeper Gunn, Kierney is in close quarters and eventually chases Gakpo down as he tries to dribble past Gunn. The offside flag eventually brings play to a halt though. 

SHOT! SAVE! Nothing comes of the corner but the Dutch go up the other end. Depay lays a nice ball off to Gakpo who cuts inside and looks to go straight to goal, he shoots and his effort is dipping but Gunn gets a strong hand to push it over the bar. 

Free kick for Scotland as Simons runs into the back of his man. Gilmour is over it and Scotland have numbers forward. The towering figure of van Dijk heads the cross away though, Netherlands try to counter as Memphis runs with the ball and then sends a big switch pass towards the run of Frimpong on the far side. The pass is slightly behind him though and he can't bring it under control. 

OFFSIDE! Malen with another good run behind the backline, he is played over the top and tries to lift an effort over Gunn but it is over the bar. The flag is raised after his shot so it will be a free kick to Scotland. Malen is showing some searing pace here! 

A triple change for Steve Clarke's Scotland. Shankland, Tierney and Gilmour are off and Adams, Souttar and Ferguson replace them. 

Scotland look to hit back with Gilmour winning the ball and then trying to release McGinn into space on the right. He eventually wins a corner with a blocked cross and goes over to take it himself. The corner is curled in low and hard but the Dutch defend it. 

Some possession for Scotland now as McGinn and Gilmour show good strength on the ball to hold possession in the middle of the park. The offside flag is raised against Shankland as the ball is played forward. 

Koeman makes a couple of changes in attacking areas as Depay and Simons are withdrawn. Weghorst and Malen take their places. 

The referee brings to a close an interesting first half of football here in the Johan Cruyff arena. Scotland started the brighter of the two sides and were on the front foot, pressing the Netherlands high and then creating some good crossing opportunities. The best of which was Christie's header that was saved onto the bar by Flekken. The Netherlands grew into the game as the half went on, enjoying possession in better areas during the latter stages. It was a great strike by Reijnders to break the deadlock as he was afforded a bit too much space in a central area. In the final moments of the half there were a couple of nearly moments for the Dutch but the match remains finely balanced at the interval. 

Christie and Frimpong come together on the right, both sides are not pulling out of the challenges so far. 

The Netherlands get us back underway and look direct with a longer pass. This is rebuffed back down the other end by Scotland. 

SHOT! A quick break from Scotland as Robertson finds space on the left and then puts a ball across into the box where McGinn is arriving. The Aston Villa man gets a touch to the cross but the effort flies over the top. 

More changes for the Netherlands as Wijnaldum and Gakpo are taken off and Blind and Koopmeiners given some minutes by the manager. 

1v1 SHANKLAND! OFF THE BAR! The Netherlands make a similar mistake to the one a few minutes earlier, as Scotland pounce on a ball from the keeper to the defensive midfielder. Shankland is then slipped in on goal and he has time to open his body and shoot 1v1 against Flekken. He connects well but the ball cannons off the crossbar and over! What an opportunity to draw level. 

SAVE! OFF THE BAR! The Netherlands give the ball away and then Scotland play to the right where Gilmour runs outside and curls a cross to the back post. Christie arrives and gets a strong header on target but Flekken tips the ball on to the bar! Shankland is also lurking in the box but the ball doesn't fall to him and the Dutch get it clear. 

A double change for Scotland after the goal. Patterson and Christie head to the bench with Ralston and Armstrong coming on. 

CROSS! The Netherlands have an attack of their own and work the ball around the Scotland box before a cross is played towards the run of Gakpo around the penalty spot. The Scots do well to follow their runners and head it clear. 

The players are out on the pitch and lined up for their respective national anthems. We are only moments away now! 

CROSSES! A clever free kick in the middle of the park finds Robertson who crosses a ball from the left that is very high and loops to the back post. Scotland try to head it back across goal but the Netherlands defend. Gilmour is alive to the clearance and crosses again from the right this time. There is a small bit of head tennis in the box but the Scots can't get the right side of their man before the ball is lumped back up the pitch by the home side. 

The Netherlands continue to play out from the back despite their recent mistakes. The Scots press on but this time the Dutch are able to play around and to the other side nicely.
