CHANCE! The hosts work the ball patiently from right to left and back again, in search of an all-important opening. It comes to Ruiz once again, and he skips infield onto his left foot before firing a bouncing shot straight at Bento. Brazil's goalkeeper will take those all day long. 

From one talented teen to another, Yamal tries to get Spain going on the front foot and is forced to settle for a corner after good work from Brazil defensively. A promising situation was unfolding there and needed dealing with.

INCREDIBLE! Late drama in Madrid as Brazil are awarded a last-gasp penalty! Yan Couto delivers a dangerous cross from the right which Galeno can't turn goalwards at the first attempt. He tries to retrieve the ball but as he does so, Carvajal takes his legs from under him and the referee points straight to the spot!

PENALTY TO SPAIN! The home side have a glorious chance to hit the front, with Yamal brought down in the box by the outstretched leg of Joao Gomes. The Spain winger skips beyond the initial challenge of Wendell near the byline, but the second contact - which was pretty clumsy on first viewing - is enough to force him down, and the referee points straight to the spot.

An entertaining first half comes to a close in Madrid, with Spain leading by a one-goal margin, in a game which could've had plenty more goals at either end! Rodri set La Roja on their way from the penalty spot 12 minutes in after 16-year-old Lamine Yamal was fouled by Joao Gomes. Shorty after the half-hour mark, Dani Olmo glided his way through to score Spain's second after more involvement from Yamal, but Brazil - who were on the back foot for large spells of the opening 45 minutes - were gifted a route back into the game after a glaring effort from Unai Simon, whose pass out from the back was intercepted and turned home by Rodrygo. It's been as fiery and feisty as many may have expected ahead of tonight's game - here's hoping for similar levels of intensity after the break!

BRAZIL TEAM NEWS: Dorival Jr names an unchanged XI after ending England's 20-game unbeaten run at Wembley on Saturday, in what was his first game in charge of the national team. That means there's no place in the starting line-up for 17-year-old Endrick - the man who scored the winner at Wembley, and will officially join Real Madrid in July when he turns 18. 

It seems Fabricio Bruno has been booked in the aftermath of that goal - for what, I'm not entirely sure!

Hello there, and a warm welcome to Tribe's LIVE coverage of this much-anticipated international friendly between Spain and Brazil. My name is James Messenger, and I'll be guiding you through all the action from Madrid's Santiago Bernabeu. 

A card had to come at some stage, and eventually it does for Le Normand. He slides in to win a bouncing ball but takes more of Wendell than he intended. It's another challenge which doesn't go down too well, and the referee responds by brandishing his first booking of the evening. 

Another hefty-looking challenge from the South Americans, and this time it's Rodrygo who catches Le Normand with a slightly late one. You'd expect a booking for that sort of challenge in a league game, but being a friendly, the referee keeps his cards in his pocket this time around.

Superb work defensively from Le Normand, who has an onrushing Vinicius Jr for company but bides his time before sticking out a leg to successfuly dispossess the Real Madrid man as he was building up a head of steam in the final third.

Within seconds, Joao Gomes tries to send the ball downfield, but Yamal gets a toe to it first. The Spain forward is caught on the shin with the follow-through before hitting the floor in some pain, and the outcome is an early free-kick for the hosts.

LUCAS PAQUETA HOLDS HIS NERVE! With quite possibly the last kick of the game, Brazil equalise from the penalty spot! Paqueta stutters up towards the spot and buries his penalty into his bottom left corner, with Simon unable to get anywhere near it. The celebrations which follow show how much this result means to Brazil - it looks like their unbeaten start under new boss Dorival Jr is about to continue!

You have to cast your mind back more than a decade for the last time these two sides met. It ended 3-0 to Brazil in the Confederations Cup back in June 2013, with the goals on that day scored by Fred (2) and Neymar. In fact, the Seleção have lost just once against tonight's hosts since 1950!

One club team-mate for another as Athletic Bilbao's Nico Williams is replaced by Oihan Sancet. 

SPAIN HIT THE FRONT AGAIN! Rodri has his second of the night from the penalty spot, and it's another absolute beauty as he sweeps his latest spot kick into the bottom left corner, leaving Bento with no chance at all. Not the the first time tonight, Brazil find themselves in need of a route back into proceedings, having already come from two goals down either side of half-time!

HE'S DONE IT AGAIN! Brazil's hero of Wembley strikes again in Madrid as Endrick scores within five minutes of his introduction! A Brazil corner from the left is flicked on at the near post before Laporte gets his head to the ball near the six-yard box. He can only get it away as far as the teenage forward, who hits a low, first-time volley on the turn which takes a minor deflection and has just enough power to evade Simon. We're all-square in the Spanish capital!

CHANCE! A long-range sighter for the hosts as they look to find some semblance of control in Madrid. Olmo takes aim from outside the box, but his shot isn't heading towards either corner and only succeeds in stinging the palms of Bento, who was well-positioned to deal with that strike in the middle of his goal.

The cards are really starting to flow now. It's a second caution for Brazil, with Paqueta guilty of wiping out his man on the touchline nearest to the dugout. Quite a few players were quick to surround the referee and make their feelings known after that foul. 

Hang on now... there's a bit of an off-the-ball coming together between Endrick and Cucurella which leaves the Spain left-back rolling around on the ground and his bench up in arms about what has happened. Having been blocked off initially, it seems the young Brazilian had a couple of attempted kicks out at his man and is shown a yellow card for his troubles. A few choice words follow between the two benches, but tempers soon calm down.  

Well, tonight should be a real blockbuster affair as both of these sides gear up for their respective international tournaments in the summer. Euro 2024 is on the horizon for Spain, who have won the tournament on two of the last four occasions. They will also dearly love to put on an improved showing after losing out to Colombia in their first game of 2024 last week. As for Brazil, they enjoyed far more success in England's capital last time out, with a new-look side showing real signs of promise as they continue preparations for the pursuit of their 10th Copa America crown. Consistency of selection appears the order of the day for the recently-appointed Dorival Jr, but there is certainly real cause for optimism as the latest generation of Brazilian talent looks to break its way through. 

Spain have been mightily impressive thus far, with their opponents hardly managing to land a telling blow on their opponent. So vibrant in possession and hungry to win it back, the hosts have given their supporters plenty to cheer so far in Madrid!

GOOD SAVE! Spain are really coming on strongly now! After more good work on the front foot, the ball is worked towards the edge of the box for Olmo. He forces a smart save out of Bento with his initial drive, low down to the goalkeeper's left, but the ball squirms free from his grasp and the Brazil shot-stopper can't prevent the corner. 

GREAT SAVE! What a thunderous effort from Rodri! The Manchester City man almost grabs his second of the night as the ball is pulled back towards the edge of the box from the left. Rodri couldn't get much more power or accuracy behind his shot if he tried, and Bento is forced into a fine reflex save to turn the ball away. 

A late, standing ovation for Lamine Yamal. The Spanish teen sensation makes way for the final few minutes, to be replaced by the far more experienced Jesus Navas.

The set-piece is swung in, but Brazil head it away commandingly in the first instance. Spain do keep it alive and lift the ball back into the penalty area, but Williams is penalised for handball as he attempts to swivel-and-shoot, and the opportunity comes to nothing. 

Tempers fray momentarily as Ruiz takes exception to being caught slightly late by Paqueta near halfway. The Spain midfielder responds by pushing his opposite number to ground, and the referee is straight across to give both men a stern telling-off. 

CHANCE! An incredible bit of skill from Yamal which deserved so much more! A quite magical turn on the near touchline helps him escape the clutches of Joao Gomes before producing more quick footwork to bypass another attempted challenge down the right side of the box. As he prepares to pull the trigger, Brazil get bodies back at the crucial moment to thwart the teenager and deny him the opportunity to test Bento, with a goal-kick the eventual outcome. 

The corner is played short and eventually dealt with as we enter the final 15 minutes in Madrid. 

A six-goal thriller in Madrid comes to an end!

It's been quite the hectic start to the half, and there's a yellow card thrown into the mix as Carvajal fouls Andre and finds himself issued with a caution. 

GOOD CHANCE! Cucurella has started brightly down the left for Spain, and it's his low cross which isn't dealt with at all well by the Brazilians. The ball bobbles beyond a couple of defenders and through towards the far side of the box for the unmarked Yamal, but he can't get his foot over the ball and his effort rises high over Bento's crossbar.

GREAT SAVE! Brazil are so close to going ahead! The South Americans continue their impressive second half assault as Rodrygo escapes down the right flank before driving on and into the penalty area. He lashes a shot goalwards and Simon is forced to produce a telling save at his near post to deny the Real Madrid man his second of the game. 

A GIFT FOR BRAZIL! No sooner had Spain gone two goals up, they pass their way into trouble coming out from the back and are made to pay. Simon's sloppy ball is intercepted by Rodrygo and the goalkeeper comes off his line to try and atone for his initial error. In the end, he makes life a little easier for the Real Madrid man as he lifts the ball into an unguarded net from the edge of the penalty area, at his home stadium of course. Out of nowhere, Dorival Jr's men have a lifeline!

Beraldo, who gave away the penalty a few minutes ago, compounds a difficult few minutes by swiping the legs of Sancet from under him near halfway and collecting a routine yellow card.

RODRI HAMMERS IT HOME! No mistake from the La Roja captain, who fires his spot-kick down the middle from 12 yards out as Bento dives to his right. Luis de la Fuente's side have been on the front foot throughout at the Santiago Bernabeu, and now they have the goal that you'd argue their efforts have deserved!

CHANCE! Now it is Brazil's turn to threaten, with Rodrygo gliding beyond Rodri down the left side of the Spanish penalty area before cutting inside beyond the attempted challenge of Carvajal. He lays it back for Vinicius Jr, whose low, driven effort stings the palms of Simon.

ANOTHER SPAIN PENALTY! For the second time tonight, the referee points to the spot! From the right, Yamal delivers an exquisite outside-of-the-foot pass which finds Carvajal inside the box. He takes a touch beyond Beraldo, who brings his man down on the stretch near the byline. Plenty of players in Brazil yellow surround the referee, and it seems Pereira has been booked for protesting a little too forcefully.

Changes for both teams as we enter the final 10. Spain make two substitutions as Alvaro Morata and Robin Le Normand make way for Mikel Oyarzabal and Pau Cubarsi. As for Brazil, Galeno is sent on to replace Rodrygo, scorer of the South American's first of the night. 

More yellow cards, one for each side. There isn't much in the initial foul from Laporte on Paqueta, but tempers fray once more in the seconds that follow. Guimaraes is the man who seems to be leading the Brazilian protests for reasons unknown, and he finds himself in the book before Laporte, too, is carded for his part in the incident.

CHANCE! At the other end, a sumptuous diagonal towards the left flank finds Williams, whose first thought is to drive inside at a retreating Brazilian backline. He enters the box and makes room to shoot, but the effort lacks power and precision and ends up bobbling wide of Bento's near post.

SPAIN TEAM NEWS: Luis de la Fuente makes 10 changes from the side that lost 1-0 to Colombia at the London Stadium on Friday, with ex-Manchester City and current Al Nassr defender Aymeric Laporte the sole survivor from that defeat. Former Chelsea forward Alvaro Morata leads the line while Marc Cucurella - who has made just 10 appearances at club level for the Stamford Bridge outfit this season - starts at left-back. La Roja will be captained tonight by Manchester City midfielder Rodri. 

From a Spanish set-piece, Brazil counter with menace and find themselves with a numerical advantage momentarily. Vinicius Jr carries the charge and has Endrick haring forward to his right, but the pass is a little too far ahead of him and Carvajal, using all his years of experience, is able to get across to thwart his future team-mate. 

CHANCE! What a delivery from Raphinha! The Barcelona wide man fires in a fizzing free-kick delivery from the right, and it takes a glancing header from Spain to rid the danger and divert the ball away for a throw-in on the far side. Could one or two players in Brazil yellow have gambled on the ball reaching the back post, you wonder?

A game which really did have it all! Twice Spain led, twice Brazil came back to level matters - including deep into second half stoppage time through Lucas Paqueta. Three penalties were awarded, all three converted, and teenagers impressed on either side as Spain's Lamine Yamal had a hand in all three goals for his side and Brazil's Endrick scored his second goal in as many games, within five minutes of his introduction as a half-time substitute. These two global heavyweights have served up an absolute treat of an international friendly, in a game which could've easily had double-figure goals, such was the sheer volume of chances created. But in the end, the spoils shared after a night of high drama at the Santiago Bernabeu. 

Vinicius Junior's number is shown, and his night is over. The Real Madrid man - who was unable to hold back the tears in yesterday's press conference as he spoke about the racism he had endured during his time in La Liga - receives a warm ovation from all corners of the ground before being replaced by Aston Villa's Douglas Luiz. 

Here come the two teams! Kick-off is coming up imminently in Madrid, so don't go anywhere...

CHANCE! Counter-attacking at its finest from Spain as Carvajal plays a ball down the right channel for Yamal, who capitalises on a slip from Wendell and stretches his legs to race free. His subsequent low cross finds Williams who in-turn tees up the onrushing Ruiz on the edge of the box, but the PSG midfielder's curling first-time strike is a little too high to trouble Bento in the Brazil goal. 

CHANCE! Within 60 seconds of the restart, Brazil threaten on the front foot as Vinicius Jr is crowded out inside the box. His attempted shot takes a deflection which just evades Endrick and runs through into the path of Paqueta, who races onto the loose ball at full tilt but miscues his low shot and sends it wide of the left-hand post.

CHANCE! Into the final quarter we go, and the relentless nature of this contest shows no sign of slowing down. The latest chance falls the way of Spain as Yamal tees up Ruiz on the edge of the box, but he can't keep his right-footed effort from ballooning over the top. 

More good link-up from Spain down the left channel, with Williams feeding the onrushing Cucurella. He looks to send in another cross, but Raphinha carries out his defensive duties well on this occasion and gets it behind for a corner.

Wendell streaks clear down the left for Brazil, but the referee has already blown up for a foul on Carvajal. The Spain right-back looked to have been dispossessed cleanly as the South American defender stuck his foot in to win control of the bouncing ball, but the experienced Real Madrid man throws himself to ground and buys himself a free-kick on halfway. 

SPAIN DOUBLE THEIR LEAD! La Roja are really in the mood tonight! Brazil find themselves two goals down before the half-time break as Yamal slides a low ball into the penalty area for Dani Olmo. The RB Leipzig still has lots to do but he makes it look easy, knocking it through the legs of Beraldo, evading the wayward challenge of Guimaraes then bending a lovely shot into the far left corner beyond a helpless Bento. 

KICK-OFF! A quadruple change for Brazil as the second half begins. Andreas Pereira, Endrick, Yan Couto and Andre are brought on to replace Joao Gomes, Raphinha, Danilo and the yellow-carded Bruno Guimaraes.
