BOURNEMOUTH TEAM NEWS: Two changes for Bournemouth from the side that lost to Liverpool midweek in the League Cup. Lloyd Kelly and Max Aarons come back in defense. Marcus Tavernier is also included, with Adam Smith, Antoine Semenyo and Justin Kluivert dropping to the bench.

Doku goes bursting past Mepham on the left with pace before trying to fizz it into the middle. Zabarnyi slides in to block it and Christie helps to clear the danger.

Manchester City have taken an imposing 3-0 lead, showcasing their absolute dominance on the field. The first half has been a masterclass of precision and teamwork by the City side, leaving their opponents trailing far behind. One of the standout moments of the first half came when Doku, who has been in exquisite form, displayed his exceptional connection with Rodri. This seamless partnership between the two led to the opening goal of the game. Doku's brilliance didn't stop there; he went on to orchestrate another spectacular goal, this time combining with Walker to set up Bernardo for City's second score. In a twist of fate, Doku's shot deflected off Akanji and found the back of the net, granting his teammate a historic first-ever Premier League goal. The sheer efficiency and ruthless execution displayed by City in the initial 45 minutes have virtually sealed the fate of this match. Bournemouth, their opponents, have been rendered nearly powerless, barely managing to make any impact in the game as City's relentless dominance has taken center stage.

Rothwell drives into the box from the left but just as he's looking to shoot he gets into a bit of a muddle with team-mate Kerkez. He manages to revive the move but Kovacic gets a clearance away

Foden looks comfortable making a run forward and he wins his side a throw from the right flank. Although, a miscommunication sees that attacking chance wasted. 

Bernardo Silva looking good early on as he takes a touch away from Kelly on the right. Then he switches to the left where Doku is waiting. He crosses inside the box and Erling Haaland does his best to latch onto it, but he can't get to the ball.

Nunes slides a lovely throughball down the right for Lewis, but Senesi is giving him absolutely no time on the ball. Goal-kick.

BOURNEMOUTH GET ONE BACK! A long ball out to the right finds Aarons on the run and he drives a great bending pass across the penalty box for Sinisterra to take a touch inside Walker and squeeze his finish past Ederson in the middle. Ederson could've done better. There will be a VAR check on whether Sinisterra was offside.... BUT IT'S GIVEN.

MANCHESTER CITY TEAM NEWS: Pep has made four changes from last week's team. Manuel Akanji and Nathan Ake come into a rotated defence, with Ruben Dias and Josko Gvardiol dropping to the bench. In midfield, Mateo Kovacic replaces Phil Foden, while Jeremy Doku gets the nod on the left wing in place of Jack Grealish. 

Alvarez is unable to link with a teammate down the right and turns it over for a Bournemouth throw in.

Foden takes aim from outside the box, but it bounces off Bournemouth defenders and almost falls at Alvarez's feet inside the box. But Kelly stands his ground to shield it back to the keeper.

Bournemouth are making a double change. Billing is taken off for Semenyo. And Tavernier, who has struggled to get into this game, is replaced by Sinisterra.

Under the masterful guidance of Pep Guardiola, Manchester City have established an indomitable fortress at the Etihad Stadium, boasting an impressive record of 14 consecutive home league victories. This remarkable streak, coupled with their rock-solid defense that has conceded only twice in the last five league encounters on home turf, further cements their status as a formidable force in the league. An impressive statistic that looms large is the fact that no team from outside London has managed to vanquish the Cityzens on their home turf in the Premier League since Leeds accomplished this feat in April 2021. 

Alvarez holds up a Kovacic pass nicely, before sliding Foden down the right. He looks low towards the spot, but Senesi is retreating into the box and puts it behind to safety. 

Jeremy Doku once again beats a couple of defenders on the left flank and sends a pass into the box, but Bournemouth's defence is alert to the danger and makes a clearance through Mepham.

However, Bournemouth are acutely aware of the formidable task awaiting them as they prepare to visit the blue side of Manchester. Historically, their encounters with Manchester City have been far from favorable, with the Cherries having suffered defeat in all six prior league meetings. What adds to the daunting prospect is their defensive vulnerability, conceding an average of 3.67 goals per game in those past clashes. This uphill battle demands that Bournemouth summon the same spirit and resilience that enabled them to secure their recent victory, as they attempt to defy the odds and leave a mark in a venue that has proven to be an unyielding fortress.

In a stunning display of dominance, Manchester City resoundingly defeated Bournemouth with a resounding scoreline of 6-1, firmly reestablishing their place at the pinnacle of the league table. The match served as an emphatic reminder of Man City's exceptional quality, leaving no room for doubt in Bournemouth's minds about the stark contrast in their abilities. It was a spectacle that showcased the immense talent and depth within the Man City squad, with one player, Jeremy Doku, emerging as the standout performer. Doku not only opened the scoring but also showcased his remarkable playmaking prowess by contributing assists to four more goals. However, he was not alone in his brilliance, as Bernardo Silva's performance once again reached supreme levels, demonstrating the team's collective excellence.

Solanke is target again for a long ball forward but Ake steps in and intercepts.

Scott is being helped by the physio as he limps around the edge of the pitch. His game is over as Rothwell replaces him.

Bournemouth's upcoming journey to face Manchester City is marked by a newfound sense of optimism, fueled by their recent breakthrough in the Premier League. The Cherries clinched their long-awaited first league victory of the season with a hard-fought 2-1 win over fellow strugglers Burnley, elevating them out of the relegation zone. The pivotal moment in this triumph came courtesy of Philip Billing's astonishing 40-yard strike, a moment of brilliance that encapsulated the significance of this victory. Bournemouth's manager, Andoni Iraola, aptly termed it a "huge win," as the Cherries displayed commendable determination to secure all three points in a league match, a scenario they hadn't experienced since their thrilling 3-2 victory over Tottenham back in April. This victory serves as a significant morale boost for the team as they strive to navigate the challenges that lie ahead.

Bournemouth trying to work their way into the game, but struggling to hold the ball for any length of time. They’ve had possession in good areas in the second half but haven’t put long periods of pressure on Manchester City. 

Alvarez makes a terrific run down the right wing – all the way to the byline. He seemed to run out of space there and his cross is way too high and heavy. The runners had no chance.

Both sides have been waiting a while to make these changes, and we'll start with a triple swap for City. Stones is replaced by Lewis. Alvarez, who had a bright game, is replaced by Nunes. And Phillips gets a rare chance as he comes on for Rodri.

And we're underway. Man City kick-off. They are straight into a passage of possession with Bournemouth sitting in. That would definitely be the norm of the day.

Walker is again free on the overlap on the right. He finds Haaland at the left back post but it isn't the right angle for him to head at goal and his attempted nod back into the danger zone falls kindly for a Bournemouth defender to clear away.

OVER! Jeremy Doku strides forward again from the left but his cross is blocked by Senesi for a corner. Alvarez takes it short. Mateo Kovacic pounces on the pass inside the box but flashes his shot just over the bar. That was a great chance!

And we're underway for the second half as Bournemouth kick-off. There are changes for both sides at the break, starting with City. It appears that Haaland has a knock, so they're taking no chances with him. Foden replaces him. And for Bournemouth, it's Senesi that's coming on in place of Mepham for a like for like change.

OVER! Doku runs and beats Aaron's on the left before finding Julian Alvarez. He fancies his chances and unleashes a powerful shot from the left edge of the box, but the keeper just watches it go high over the bar. 

Bournemouth win their first corner. Solanke meets the cross from the right by Christie but no one from his side can latch onto the knock-down. 

PENALTY SHOUT! Doku once again drives forward and enters the box from the left. As he does so, he's being pulled down by Mepham and goes down. But the contact was minimal. It would've been harsh if given. VAR agrees. 

DOKU GIVES CITY THE LEAD! Radu punches away Walker's cross from the right, but the hosts quickly win it back once more. Ake touches it into Doku's feet, and he plays a one-two with Rodri on the left as he skips through the crowd of defenders to get into the box. He takes the shot first time when it deflects back to him, and it skims off Mepham's back and into the far bottom right corner.

City maintain possession and then Rico Lewis tries a long pass forward for Foden on the right but it's too powerful. Goal-kick.

Kyle Walker takes a overlap run on the right but fails to find any of his teammates inside the box as his cross is blocked. The ball is out of play and Manchester City manage to earn a corner. The resulting corner from Julian Alvarez from the right is cleared.

GOAL BUT GIVEN OFFSIDE! Christie is fed in the right channel of the box by Aarons and cuts it back for Solanke to force the ball home - but the offside flag is up. There is a lengthy VAR check but eventually the decision stands. Christie was offside in the build up. No goal! 

Alex Scott is being forced to leave the pitch in order to receive medical treatment and his team will play with a man short for a few minutes. It seems it's a hamstring.

Billing into the book. He was preventing City from taking a quick free-kick in midfield. 

Man City take a corner short from the right. Kovacic shuffles it on to Bernardo Silva. He picks out Doku on the edge of the D and after turning away from Billing he shoots at goal. His effort is going just wide until it glances in off Akanji's back! 

While Bournemouth did manage to salvage a measure of pride with Luis Sinisterra's consolation goal in the second half, it was a mere glimmer of hope in the face of their formidable opponents. The match highlighted a glaring disparity in class as Man City operated in a league of their own on that particular day. The resounding victory showcased their relentless pursuit of excellence and served as a stark warning to their competitors, affirming their position as a footballing powerhouse, and leaving Bournemouth with no choice but to acknowledge the vast chasm that separates the two teams in terms of skill, tactics, and overall quality on the field.

Manchester City string together a series of short passes. But it's still mainly inside their own half so far with Bournemouth not willing to press. 

Doku cuts into the middle and from near the D, he fires an early shot. It’s well blocked by Mepham. 

OFF THE BAR! Billing finds Dominic Solanke on the left edge of the box, He unleashes a thunderous effort and the ball crashes off the woodwork.

It's better from Bournemouth's front three here as they rush out to press City's backline. Walker is forced backwards and he has to go all the way back to Ederson with no route forward. Ederson has to clear it away.

Doku has his eyes set on goal as he beats a couple of defenders before shooting. His shot is blocked out by Senesi with a sliding tackle. 

CLOSE! Ederson is looking for some involvement and advances right up the pitch towards the halfway line before trying to pop a ball over the top for Haaland. It's just overhit, despite the striker's outstretched leg. 

BLOCK! Ederson involved again. He picks a pass into midfield and Doku and Alvarez combine to send Haaland through but Zabarnyi dives across in front of him to make the block. 

Manchester City delivered an emphatic performance, securing a resounding three goal victory over their arch-rivals, Manchester United. This win served as a powerful testament to City's unwavering determination to challenge Premier League frontrunners Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal. Despite encountering a couple of defeats in their previous four league fixtures, the reigning champions find themselves mere two points adrift of the coveted top spot. The derby triumph not only showcased City's formidable presence but also sent a resounding message to their fellow contenders for the league title, underlining their undeniable threat in the race.

WIDE! Alvarez takes a corner short from the right and eventually roll it to Bernado on the right edge of the box. He gets so much whip on a left-foot curler aimed towards the top left corner  - but not quite enough to bring it inside the post. 

Brilliant combination play from Bernado and Alvarez on the right flank. Bernardo eventually tries to put it into the box but his cross is easily cleared away. 

SILVA DOUBLES CITY'S LEAD! It's more great play from Doku. He links up well with Walker down the right before leaving Mepham in a spin with some clever footwork. He slides it into Silva who strokes it into the bottom left corner.

Hello everyone and welcome to Tribe's coverage of this Premier League encounter as champions Manchester City host Bournemouth at the Etihad Stadium. My name is Sanil Karan and I will be bringing you all the action as it unfolds.

HAALAND HITS THE POST! Silva checks back twice, but just can't open up space for a shot from the middle. So he tees up Alvarez on the right for a cross. He clips it into the far left post and Haaland heads it down against Kelly which helps it onto the woodwork. Close!

Kerkez makes a great run down the left. His pull-back to Rothwell is slightly short though and Akanji comes away with it. That should be that. 

OVER! Doku drives forward on the left and finds Haaland in the middle. He lays it to Rodri. He places a shot at goal from the left edge of the box that bends just wide and over of the right post.

A HATRICK OF ASSISTS FOR DOKU! Doku drives at Aarons on the left flank and the defender doesn't know which way he's going to go before he prods a pass to Foden who finishes from close range. 

Foden tries to spin his way out of trouble with some clever footwork but Bournemouth have plenty of numbers in the box. They get it off him and clear.

And that goal was Silva's last involvement as Bobb is brought on in his place.

Christie is once again fed on the right channel by Billing. He tries to cross into the box but it's cleared. 

A fantastic sliding tackle from Walker stops Solanke in his tracks as he tried to attack down the left wing on the counter. 

SIX! An assist for the youngster Oscar Bobb as Ake gets the sixth. City work a corner from the right short and it eventually leads to Bobb blasting a cross through the six-yard box. Ake throws himself at it and his reward is a goal.

Foden now drives forward on the right and looks to find Alvarez in the middle but Radu reads it well and claims.

SAVE! Rodri meets a pass from Bernado on the right edge of the penalty area and shoots towards the middle of the goal. He didn't put enough power into the effort, though, and Radu pulls off an easy save.

BLOCK! Rodri finds Kovacic in the middle and tries a long looping pass. It  deflects of the Bournemouth defense and falls to Haaland just outside the box. He shows a burst of speed to go by Kerkez but Kelly gets across to block the shot. 

OVER! City win a corner on the right and Alvarez goes short to Bernardo on the left edge of the box. He lets fly but it's too high.

BERNADO GETS CITY'S FIFTH! Bernado drives through after a pass from Ake and dinking the ball over Radu. A Bournemouth defender is back to hack it away - but it may have already crossed the line. Nunes then makes sure - but goal-line tech gives it to Bernado.

Bournemouth's final roll of the dice sees Kluivert, who scored against Liverpool in midweek, come on for Solanke.

Bournemouth looking to respond. Milos Kerkez crosses into the box from near the left side line, but he doesn't connect as he wanted and it's cleared by the well-organized defence.
