Liverpool go out of the FA Cup as Arne Slot's decision to heavily rotate backfires spectacularly. With ten changes from the Carabao Cup semi-final, Liverpool looked incohesive and didn't threaten the Plymouth goal until they were chasing the game. One of the more experienced players, Elliott, conceded a needless penalty, that ultimately proved costly! Not that all the blame should lie with Elliott: Liverpool were poor in all areas and second-best to a relentless Plymouth performance. Just as vague whispers of a potential quadruple had started to surface, that possibility is shattered by this unexpected Cup exit: Expect a reaction in Liverpool's next few games.

What a day for Plymouth Argyle, who book a place in the FA Cup's fifth round as Liverpool are sent tumbling out of the competition! Hardie converted his penalty brilliantly but Katic was superb, absolutely superb, all game long in defence with an immense display at the back. Every single Plymouth player more than matched their Liverpool counterpart and Hazard, despite not having much to do beforehand, made two crucial stops late on! What an occasion for the Championship side, who will look to transfer this momentum into their relegation battle in the second tier. Tonight, though, there'll be huge celebrations!

PLYMOUTH PRODUCE A HUGE FA CUP UPSET - The Championship's bottom side have eliminated the Premier League leaders! What a day for Plymouth Argyle, who knock out a lethargic, much-changed Liverpool with a brilliant display! Having nullified Liverpool strongly, Plymouth won a penalty when Elliott daftly dangled a hand out inside his own penalty area: Hardie peerlessly slotting home the spot-kick. Plymouth had to cling on as the tension ratcheted up, Katic made several huge blocks whilst Hazard produced a few stunning saves to preserve the lead! There's huge celebrations at Home Park as Liverpool quickly make themselves scarce: The stadium is absolutely rocking and rightly so, this is a result for FA Cup folklore!
