Thanks for joining me here on Tribe as Nottingham Forest stunned Manchester United at Old Trafford to inflict the first home defeat of Ruben Amorim’s managerial reign on The Red Devils’ tonight; I hope you’ve enjoyed our coverage; I’ve been Rory Morrow, and I look forward to seeing you again soon for another live text commentary!
Up Next - United are back in Europe on Thursday night, taking on Victoria Plzen in the Europa League. That precedes a trip across town to the Etihad where Manchester City lie in wait in a huge Manchester derby next Sunday afternoon. Forest have a week to reset and prepare for the visit of Aston Villa to the City Ground in next Saturday’s late kick-off.
It's a brilliant result for Nottingham Forest, this. And more than merited! They started the sharper of the two sides and repeatedly poured through United's midfield as Gibbs-White provided the service, time and time again. Wood was a handful up front and demonstrated his strong mentality when he stuck his goal away clinically just minutes after spurning a good chance. Defensively, they restricted United to very little in the way of meaningful chances late on with Milenkovic excelling. A great win as they bounce back in style from the midweek disappointment at the Etihad Stadium.
Where do Manchester United start with this game? Defensively, they were ragged and didn't learn their lessons from conceding twice at set-pieces against Arsenal; that was evidenced when Milenkovic, unmarked, easily headed in the opener. They were sluggish at the start of the second half, losing the ball on countless occasions. Whilst Onana didn't cover himself in glory for Gibbs-White's goal, neither did any of United's defenders as they allowed Forest the time and space to create; and were duly punished. It's a wakeup call ahead of next weekend's Manchester derby and one they'll need to heed if they want to grab a win against their old Mancunian rivals.
FOREST WIN A FIVE-GOAL THRILLER AS AMORIM LOSES AT HOME - A pulsating encounter in the Premier League ends with a famous victory for Nottingham Forest as they take the three points at Old Trafford! They made the perfect start when Milenkovic headed them ahead just two minutes in. Hojlund prodded United level midway through the first half before both teams were denied by the crossbar. United, again, started the second half slowly and were made to pay as Gibbs-White and Wood struck goals that, ultimately, would prove definitive. Fernandes pulled one back to set up a nervy final half an hour but Forest held United at arm's length, expertly managing the match to secure a statement win! It is Ruben Amorim's first home defeat as Manchester United's manager.

CHANCE - Rashford takes it from the left. The ball evades everybody in the six-yard box. Martinez adjusts brilliantly to meet it with a scissor kick ten yards out, on the right, but his effort, whilst audacious, is also off-target, flying over the crossbar!

Mount's delivery from the right is glanced away by Elanga's header, Outside the box, Rashford regathers the ball and leathers a shot in. It deflects off Murillo for a corner...

Williams slides in very late on the speedy Diallo out by the right-hand touchline. That's a booking for him and free kick for United. Mount to swirl it in...
