Up Next - After the international break, Leicester host Chelsea at the King Power Stadium in the Saturday lunchtime slot. The day after, United are away at Portman Road to face Ipswich Town in Amorim’s first match as manager.
Leicester didn't play badly, today. They did, though, lack a glaring cutting edge in both boxes, especially without Vardy up front. Fatawu was their best player, always inventive and willing to attack whichever United player he came up against. But with only one point from their last three league games, perhaps the international break has come at a good time for Leicester to regroup before the hectic December run of games.
Fernandes, involved in all three goals, set a captain's example today. Brave on the ball and decisive with it, he kept United's attacks ticking all afternoon long. Mazraoui impressed at the back, keeping Fatawu at bay for the most part whilst goalkeeper, Onana, continues to improve. As Ruben Amorim prepares to take charge, Van Nistelrooy can take pride in his unbeaten four games as interim manager, which started and ended with wins at Old Trafford against Leicester City.
MANCHESTER UNITED WIN IN STYLE - A perfect result for Ruud Van Nistelrooy to sign off as interim manager as Manchester United clinically see off Leicester City at Old Trafford this afternoon. Fernandes's fabulously taken first-half strike and an own goal from Kristiansen had them in control at the break. Leicester huffed and puffed but couldn't find a way through. Instead, United counterattacked for the third, brilliantly finished off by substitute, Garnacho. A fine win for United as both teams sign off for the international break.
90+5'
Buonanotte, on the edge of the area, tries to a lay a short pass into the feet of Edouard on the left side of the box. Buonanotte puts too much on his pass, though, which drifts out of play for a goal-kick to Manchester United.
90+4'
de Ligt, from inside his own half, locates the run of Zirkzee, down the right-hand flan. Before Zirkzee can wriggle into the box, Vestergaard gets across to slide in and win the ball back for Leicester.
90+2'
Zirkzee, from halfway, sweeps a fabulous diagonal pass wide right to Diallo. He scuttles into the box, backheeling it off to Mazraoui. He, in turn, lays the ball inside to Eriksen who shoots over the crossbar from range.
90+1'
Fatawu dribbles past Evans down the right wing, chopping inside to try and reach the penalty box. In the process, though, he's adjudged to clip Evans and that gives The Red Devils a defensive free kick.
