Next up for Forest is a home fixture against West Ham in the Premier League next weekend, whilst Leicester travel to Old Trafford to face Manchester United in the Carabao Cup in midweek, followed by a crucial game against Ipswich in the Premier League next weekend. That wraps up our coverage of this East Midlands derby between Leicester City and Nottingham Forest. Thank you for joining me, Zak Brown on Tribe!
The one positive that Leicester can take from tonight is their goal, which was a fine, free-flowing team effort, that was finished off by Jamie Vardy at the near post. However, they failed to test the Forest defence and wasted several decent attacking opportunities throughout the evening. Meanwhile, Steve Cooper will want to shore up his team's control of possession at the back, as they were architects of their own downfall for two of Forest's three goals tonight. As well as taking a hit to their pride against local rivals, the result sees them remain in 14th position, with opportunities presented for West Ham and Everton to overtake them later this weekend.
THREE GOALS AND THREE POINTS TAKE NOTTINGHAM FOREST TO 5TH IN THE PREMIER LEAGUE! The first half was a close affair, with the sides locked level at 1-1 at half-time. But Chris Wood stole the show in the second half, scoring two goals to lift his side up to 5th position in the Premier League, something they have not achieved since 1995! Wood's first goal of the night oozed class, as he opened his body up before swiveling and shooting inside the far post, around Leicester defender Caleb Okolo. His second and Forest's third was much more of a gift, as Matz Sels long clearance was not dealt with by Wout Faes and Wood took full advantage, heading over the despairing Mads Hermansen who had stepped out of goal. The rest of the game was very scrappy, with Leicester lacking the creativity and quality needed to break down a stubborn Forest defence.

The yellow card count continues to rack up, with Nikola Milenkovic booked presumably for dissent, as he cuts a frustrated expression.

Another promising attack for Leicester comes to a frustrating end. Abdul Fatawu's cross lacks accuracy and is easily chested down by Ola Aina. Boubakary Soumare then comes in slightly late with a challenge, to concede a free kick just outside the Forest penalty area.

Forest continue to dominate the aerial battles, clearing Buonanotte's free kick away from the penalty area. Taiwo Awoniyi looks to break forward for the visitors, but he is tripped by Boubakary Soumare, who picks up a yellow card for his troubles.

Jordan Ayew draws a foul from Jota Silva, to give Leicester a promising free kick opportunity from the left wing. Facundo Buonanotte will swing the ball in left-footed.
