Thanks for joining me here on Tribe as four goals from the brilliant Cole Palmer saw Chelsea inflict a first Premier League defeat of the season onto Brighton at Stamford Bridge; I hope you’ve enjoyed our coverage; I’ve been Rory Morrow and I look forward to seeing you again soon for another live text commentary!
Up Next - Chelsea enter the group stages of the UEFA Conference League by hosting Belgian side, Gent, here on Thursday night. That’s followed by the league visit of Nottingham Forest in The Blues final assignment before the international break next Sunday. Later that same day, Brighton host Tottenham Hotspur at the Amex in their last pre-international-break encounter.
As for Brighton, a first league loss of the season. After taking the lead through Rutter, they were simply overwhelmed by a rampant Chelsea with Palmer in ruthless finishing mode. Baleba battled hard in midfield, deserving his assist and goal whilst, similar to Chelsea, it'll be the defence that needs improving if Brighton are to climb the Premier League table.
Astounding performance from Palmer, four very well-taken goals all of which displayed extreme composure in front of goal. His performance will rightly take the headlines but this was good, all-round, from Chelsea with Jackson and Sancho also instrumental to their first-half onslaught. Fernandez conducted play nicely from midfield. Although, they'll be keen to avoid conceding the two cheap goals they did today in future as Brighton continually got in behind their defence. Still, another win continues Chelsea's good form!
CHELSEA TAKE THE POINTS - A six-goal epic at Stamford Bridge sees Chelsea emerge victorious as they make it three successive Premier League wins; this their first home victory of the season. All the goals came in the first half, a thrilling forty-five minutes; Rutter headed Brighton ahead early before Palmer, teed up by Jackson, slotted home the equaliser. A Palmer penalty followed by a brilliant free kick put Chelsea two goals up and secured him a hattrick. Brighton battled back as Baleba reduced the arrears. But, Palmer, not to be outdone, bagged his fourth with a powerful strike before the break. Both sides had chances to add to their tallies in the second half but for Chelsea, it's another win whilst Brighton are left to contemplate their first league defeat this campaign.

CLOSE - Nkunku holds up play well, on the edge of the box, playing in Neto on the overlap. Cutting in from the right, Neto whisks his shot narrowly wide of the right-hand post as Chelsea nearly garnish the scoreline with a fifth.
90+3'
Ferguson lays the ball off into Ayari's path down the right. The latter tries to go on the outside, around Veiga, but sees his low ball into the middle cut out by Colwill.
90+1'
CLOSE - Brighton win the ball back high up as Veiga cedes possession to Enciso down the right wing. Enciso instantly passes it into Minteh's underlapping run, centrally. From the edge of the box, Minteh whistles his shot just wide of the left-hand post!
