That's all for this match but stay with us as the big match between Manchester City and Arsenal is less than half an hour away. Until next time, this is Sanil Karan signing off.
A second yellow card for Morgan Gibbs-White put the visitors at risk of losing momentum, but despite a potential late counterattack from the undermanned squad and a looping effort from Lewis Dunk at the other end, the match ended in a stalemate. Both teams had their moments in this back-and-forth contest, but neither could find the breakthrough.
Nuno Espirito Santo turned to his bench for a reaction, making three changes at the start of the second half, but it was Brighton who nearly extended their lead right after the break. Buoyed by his first Premier League free-kick goal, Welbeck skillfully maneuvered through a crowd of defenders, forcing Sels into a crucial save from close range. As Brighton dominated play, Forest's first-half momentum seemed to have faded, but against the odds, they found an equalizer. A pair of substitutes linked up beautifully, with Jota Silva sprinting towards goal and setting up RamĂłn Sosa for an easy tap-in.
Brighton's defense was caught off guard early on, conceding a penalty in the 13th minute when Carlos Baleba's clumsy challenge brought down Callum Hudson-Odoi, allowing Chris Wood to score from the spot. Wood's early goal put Forest in control for much of the first half, leading to frustration for the hosts. However, just before halftime, Brighton turned the game around with two quality moments: Jack Hinshelwood's powerful header from Jan Paul van Hecke's deep cross, followed by Danny Welbeck's expertly taken free-kick, which found the net past an unsighted Mats Sels, giving Brighton a surprising lead at the break.

Dunk finds himself in space on the left and delivers a dangerous cross into the box, putting pressure on Forest's defense. Sels is forced to react quickly, tipping the ball onto the crossbar before it ricochets out for a corner. Brighton's subsequent set piece is taken but is comfortably cleared by the Forest defense.

Forest launches a swift counter-attack, with Jota Silva initially delaying his pass before threading it through to Sosa, who makes a run behind the Brighton defense. Sosa attempts to square the ball for Hudson-Odoi to tap in, but he overhits the pass, sending it too far ahead. Complicating matters, Sosa was offside from Jota Silva's original pass, and as the play unfolds, Dunk receives a booking for a late challenge on Jota Silva during the build-up.

Forest finally make a rare breakaway as Hudson-Odoi surges down the left flank, but he opts to turn back and maintain possession instead of pushing forward. Moments later, he finds himself in an offside position when he receives the ball again, and in a moment of frustration, he kicks it away. This action draws the referee's attention, resulting in a yellow card for Hudson-Odoi.
