Scramble inside the Brentford 6 yard box as yet another pass is intercepted. Mbeumo was in behind the defence but Damsgaard couldn't find him. Son with the interceptiono and Spurs move it forward. The initial shot takes a couple of deflections but doesn't work its way all the way through to Flekken. Son and Kulusevski battle with a couple of defenders inside the 6 yard box but it's eventually hooked clear. 

Brentford still unable to assert any sort of control in midfield. Spurs knocking it about with ease and Son is found by a long ball. He tries to hold up play but ends up losing it and giving away a foul on the tracking Carvalho. 

Hello and welcome to Tribe for live coverage from week 5 of the Premier League. I'm Elliott Johns and I'll have all the action for you as it unfolds between Tottenham and Brentford. 

SHOT! Brentford win it back high up the pitch and Carvalho dribbles through the middle. Sees the run outside him to the left from Damsgaard and plays a lovely pass. Hits it with his left but it's straight at Vicario who gets down low to save. 

Spurs enjoying long spells of possession but Brentford have settled into an organised low block. They're proving increasingly difficult to break down but it's when they get on the ball that they struggle. Constantly giving it away deep inside their own half which is handing Spurs attacking opportunities. 

Brentford with an opportunity to test Tottenham after winning a corner. Mbeumo takes and swings it into a dangerous area. Solanke back to do his defensive duties and now Spurs have an opportunity to break. Son looks to race past Collins but the centre half shows good strength to win it back in a crucial challenge. 

Schade again the target for a long ball forward but the pass has been overhit. Vicario stays within his box this time and falls on the ball. That'll take thirty seconds out of this on. 

Brentford weren't at the races today. They perhaps were missing Wissa who has been involved in 8 of their last 10 goals. He's scored 5 and assisted 3 but was forced out through injury. They were far too sloppy in possession today, constantly giving opportunities for Spurs to hit on the break. 

I still can't quite get my head around the no red card for Vicario but on we go. Brentford asking Tottenham a few questions of their own after what has been a difficult second half so far. The longer this stays at 2-1, the better for Brentford. They're growing in confidence. 

Son gets the wrong side of van den Berg and darts into the box. Tries to cut it back from the byline but it's deflected behind for a corner. They nearly make a mess of defending the corner but Flekken sees it land kindly at his feet. 

Brentford need to assert some more control in the middle of the park. There's no link between defence and attack at the moment and Brentford's forwards are completely out of the game. Janelt tries to get things rolling but they're struggling to find a way through Spurs' high press. 

Spurs have just started to build into this game with Porro spotting a run in behind from Johnson. Plays a lovely ball but a good piece of defending from Lewis-Potter results in a goal kick. 

CHANCE! Son played in behind by Solanke and he shows off his pace to blast past the final defender. He's one on one with the keeper and he opts to round the keeper. Flekken dives at the ball and gets a fingertip on it to just put it out of Son's dribble path. He still has it but Brentford are quick to get numbers back. He lays it off for Kulusevski who fires a shot away first time. Blocked at the edge of the post though and it's cleared. 

Spurs doing their best to work the clock down and Solanke gives them the perfect opportunity to do so after winning a free kick. Maddison strides over to take. 

Replays show a pretty clear handball outside the box from Vicario but strangely, nothing has been given. Checked and cleared by VAR. I'm baffled as to how that hasn't even be looked at by the referee. 

Johnson to Porro on the overlap and the fullback wins another corner after seeing his cross blocked. Kulusevski plays the corner short and it's worked around before Porro whips it in. Headed away and Spurs then concede a free kick. Brentford break forward quickly with Damsgaard played into a bit of space. Both Johnson and Romero slide in on him just outside the box and five yards from the byline. Both challenges are poorly timed and the free kick is given. 

Solanke a little too physical in a duel and he gives away a foul 15 yards inside his half. This will be an opportunity to put a ball into the box. 

Tottenham with five men inside the area but Kulusevski can't find any of them. Instead it's a corner which he plods over to take. Good ball into the 6 yard box but no one boxes out the keeper. Good command of the box from Flekken as he claims. 

A couple of short passes played initially from the free kick before it's floated into the box. Easily claimed by Vicario who looks to get things going quickly. Long throw to a chasing Son but Lewis-Potter gets there first. He's under a lot of pressure with not a lot of support and is forced to put it out of play. 

Brentford holding onto the ball and Carvalho plays a dinky ball forward for the underlapping Lewis Potter to chase. Vicario slow off his line but van de Ven shields it well enough for the keeper to claim. 

Another risky pass from Brentford and Brennan Johnson pounces. This time it's a poor pass into Collins but the defender recovers crucially, getting a leg in the way of Johnson's shot. They're creating all their own issues at the moment. 

Fizzed into Solanke at the edge of the box but he can't bring it under control. Punted clear and Spurs regather on halfway. 

Udogie wants a foul after breaking forward but it's not given. Brentford spot a chance to counter themselves and win a corner after some trickery from Carvalho at the byline. 

Maddison took his shirt off during the celebration, a mandatory yellow card. 

Vicario collects an aimless cross and gets the ball rolling again quickly down the right hand side. Spurs move it forward quickly but the defence has retreated well. Nothing on so they recycle and look for other ways through. 

The home fans stunned into an early silence after that goal. Brentford try to play it out from the back with Tottenham pressing high. Pressure from Kulusevski forces an inaccurate long ball forward from Flekken. 

Triple sub for Ange as he looks to wind the clock down and give some younger players some minutes. Gray, Moore and Bergvall on. 

SOLANKE WITH THE EQUALISER! A first Spurs goal for Dominic Solanke and how good will that feel! Another breakdown from Brentford as Pinnock gives it away to Maddison. He strides into the box and hits his shot straight at Flekken. Simple save but it ricochets back into the path of Solanke who taps it into an open net. He won't get an easier opportunity this season. 

CLOSE! Brentford continue to live dangerously as Spurs nearly have a third. Kulusevski cuts inside off the left and shows some good skills before feeding in Son at the byline. Cut back to Solanke at the near post but he can't get the effort quite right. Still bobbles around ominously inside the 6 yard box before Flekken eventually dives on it. 

Spurs peppering the Brentford box with crosses but it's pretty resolute defending inside their own area from the away side. Mbeumo collects and holds up play close to halfway, winning a smart foul to relieve some of the pressure. 

Vicario involved again as he comes off his line to punch a long throw behind for a corner. He holds onto the corner though, claiming well. 

Schade takes it with his back to goal but turns well.

Much less passive and far more direct in terms of attacking output from Spurs. That will please their supporters who have been calling for that during the week. Maddison, Kulusevski, Son, Johnson, Solanke, all excellent. 

Maddison wins it back on halfway and plays a long through ball to Son. Fires a cross to the near post towards Solanke but the Pinnock gets in front of him to head clear. Spurs regather possession and hold onto it inside the Brentford half. 

SPURS HAVE TURNED THIS GAME AROUND! Front foot football from the home side and the manager breaks character with a smile. Simple pass into Johnson from Son. He's got a lot to do from the position he receives it but boy oh boy does he do it. Takes it outside Collins towards the byline and hits a shot from a tight angle. Places it perfectly into the far left corner, just out of Flekken's reach. 

Brilliant play from Maddison as he weaves his way into the box. Plays an outside of the foot cross to the back post where Solanke is lurking. Can't get on the end of it though as Brentford do just enough to scramble it away. 

BIG SAVE! Corner played short and around the box before eventually being sent inside. Schade rises up to head and looks to place it past Vicario. Good effort on target but the lack of power allowed Vicario to get across quickly a claw it out just before it goes in. Fantastic save. 

SHOT! Damsgaard feels some contact from behind from Porro and goes down. Waved away though and Spurs have a throw. Worked inside and Maddison darts inside. Nice one two with Udogie before sliding in Kulusevski. Lets it run onto his left and drives towards the bottom right corner. Flekken sticks a leg out and saves well. 

Brentford somehow don't make Vicario pay! The Spurs keeper stalls in possession for far too long and Carvalho puts him under pressure. Stolen away and laid off for Mbeumo to have a pop but Vicario recovered well to save. What on earth was he thinking at first though? Just get rid of it! 

Brentford remaining stubborn in their tactics to play it out from the back and possession is lost inside their own half once again. Brentford nick it back though and Damsgaard looks to run it out. Van de Ven slides in physically and gets 100% of the ball in a crushing but fair challenge. That gets a few of the Spurs fans on their feet.

A tad more accuracy playing it out from the back but I've spoken too soon! Given away again as Bentancur pounces on the loose ball. Carries it forward but goes down inside the box. No foul given but Solanke still with an opportunity. Shot saved and it's hastily turned behind for a corner. 

Possession given away cheaply by Tottenham and Carvalho is then fouled by Sarr inside the Brentford half. 

Spurs doing the opposite of last week in that they're winning all the second balls. In complete control of the tempo of this game as they continue to apply pressure high up the pitch. 

Tottenham beginning to threaten in these closing stages with Brentford just looking a tad disjointed since all the changes have been made. Free kick given away for a foul by Konak on Udogie. 

Ajer turns away from trouble and goes off on a fabulous dribble to kickstart the attack for Brentford. Van de Ven slides in on him at halfway and catches him awkwardly. The first yellow card of the game despite vociferous arguments from the Spurs faithful. 

Brentford sit deep inside their own half and give away a corner. Romero with his cross blocked. Flekken gets a fingertip on the delivery and Maddison then runs out of room at the byline, giving away a goal kick. 

Into the final minute of extra time with Brentford desperately trying to get the ball forward. Not enough time left to do anything meaningful you have to feel. 

Back underway with Mbeumo coming back on after 30 seconds on the sideline. Johnson plays a lovely through ball into Kulusevski who takes it superbly on the half turn. Has Solanke inside if he wants to cut it back but opts to shoot himself. Wrong choice in the end as Brentford scramble to block. 

SHOT! Tottenham press high and win it back once more. Angled run from the left from Maddison and he feeds it into Son inside him. Pulls the trigger with his right foot from just outside the box. Powerfully hit but it's straight at Flekken. 

The corner is cleared as far as Porro at the edge who takes a touch before firing a shot away. Doesn't get through the bodies though and Brentford clear. 

After defeat in the North London Derby last week, Tottenham have another home London derby to try and put things right. They struggled to break Arsenal down but to be fair, the Gunners have one of the best defensive records in the league. Brentford will be slightly less difficult, on paper at least, but no game is an easy one in this league. 

THAT SHOULD DO IT FOR SPURS! Schade takes it with his back to goal but turns well and breaks forward. Bissouma slides in on him expertly though and he's dispossessed. Spurs with an opportunity to break now and it's played forward to Son. Great through ball and two defenders sprint to close him down. That leaves space for Maddison on the inside though and Son finds him. Maddison takes a touch, sees Flekken advancing towards him and just dinks it over him. 

Spurs are unchanged from last week's losing side with Ange Postecoglou avidly defending Solanke's performances in the media. Brentford meanwhile swap two from the loss at City. After impressing during the week, Fabio Carvalho has earned a starting berth whilst Yarmolyuk also comes in. 

5 additional minutes to be played with the Spurs fans in full voice. Three points just five minutes away now. 

Good looking ball floated into the back post from Kulusevski. Took it back inside onto his left but Solanke mistimes his run meaning he's unable to get on the end of it. Goal kick to restart. 

Tottenham looking for some more stability in midfield as they bring Sarr on for Johnson. I suspect that means Kulusevski will move onto the wing. 

Possession turned over in midfield by Brentford and it's rolled out to Johnson by Kulusevski. Ball sent into the box which is hastily cleared behind for a corner. Collins meets the delivery and heads away from danger. 

Carvalho withdrawn for Trevitt. He's been good at times today, promising signs for the remainder of the season. 

SAVE! Given away over on the Tottenham left flank and Brentford pounce. Early ball played into Mbeumo across the back four. Gets a shot away but a good low save from Vicario takes the sting out of the attack. 

Brentford not posing nearly enough of a threat as Ajer then goes through the back of Maddison. Needless foul to give away, frustration beginning to show. 

A change each with Schade and Bissouma both coming on. 

Porro plays in a cross from the right which Ajer heads behind for a corner with Son lurking behind him. 

Mbeumo down receiving some treatment after a tangle with Romero. Fairly innocuous on first viewing but he's clearly felt something as he goes down clutching his right leg. 

Recent history in this fixture for Brentford isn't great. They've won just one of their last six games against Spurs. That came in May of 2023, a 3-1 victory. Spurs aren't in the best of form themselves though having picked up an average of a point a game across the opening four fixtures. There's a lot of pressure on Big Ange and that will only build if he doesn't find a way to three points today. 

NIGHTMARE START FOR SPURS! Brentford with some intent straight from the kickoff as they work it forward down the left flank. Nice movement from Lewis-Potter and he stalls on the ball for a moment. The defence is sitting off him and that allows him to put a decent ball in. Finds Mbeumo who's in space himself and he hooks his left foot around it brilliantly on the volley. Fires it past a diving Vicario and finds the top left corner! Brentford go one up inside a minute! Sublime strike. 

Shchade looks to run in behind Spurs' high line but goes too early and is flagged for offside. 

Collins heads away Maddison's delivery and Spurs then fail to break down what is a very organised Brentford low block. Good from the away side. 

Spurs with some late defending to do as Maddison gives away a corner. Mbeumo takes and swings it into the 6 yard box. No Brentford player near that though and it's headed away. 

Silly from Bissouma having only just come onto the pitch as well. Reckless foul inside the Brentford half and the referee is quick to brandish a yellow. 

Brentford took the lead after just 22 seconds through a magnificent strike from Mbeumo. It's been all Spurs since then though, with Solanke scoring his first goal for the club to level things before Johnson squeezed a fantastic effort past Flekken to give them the lead. 

After the earliest of scares from Brentford and Mbeumo, Spurs came back to bag a much needed three points. Relief is the general sense around the ground after a slow start to the season. This was needed for Tottenham. 

Breaks kindly for Brentford as they work it forward. Carvalho just runs out of space at the byline though and puts it behind for a goal kick.

HAS VICARIO MADE A FATAL ERROR?! Comes to the edge of the box to try and claim and he's under a lot of pressure. Looks like he's handled outside the box but the referee doesn't give anything initially. Ajer shown a yellow for appealing for a booking. VAR should definitely be having a look at this. 

Last roll of the dice for Frank as he makes another two changes. Roerslev and Konak in.

We're back underway as the fans continue to filter back from the concourse to their seats. Plenty still to do for Spurs to win this game, they'll be seeking another goal pretty quickly here. 

Brentford have been the masters of their own downfall so far in this half. There's been a trend of them giving it away deep inside their own half which has led to the vast majority of Spurs' chances. Their midfield hasn't performed well enough so far and it's up to them now to try and fix that at half time. 

Tottenham quickly on the attack down the other end and again Son finds himself played in between the centre backs. He's running into space and should shoot but delays for too long. Gives to Johnson outside him on the right who snatches at the shot a bit. Goes just wide with Solanke potentially missing an opportunity to poke home at the back post. 

All Spurs at the minute as another effort goes narrowly wide. Won back on halfway and Maddison feeds in Kulusevski. Dribbles forward and then lays it off for Johnson. Runs into the box and shoots from a tight angle. Beats the keeper but also beats the far post.
