Thanks for joining me here on Tribe as Tottenham Hotspur shattered Manchester City’s unbeaten home run with a remarkable victory at the Etihad Stadium this evening; I hope you’ve enjoyed our coverage; I’ve been Rory Morrow, and I look forward to seeing you again soon for another live text commentary!
Up Next - City host Feyenoord in the Champions League on Tuesday night before travelling to Anfield next Sunday for a huge clash with current leaders, Liverpool. Tottenham take on Roma in the Europa League on Thursday evening before hosting Fulham, also next Sunday afternoon, in the league.
What a triumph for Spurs, who beat City for the second time in a month having knocked them out of the Carabao Cup in late October. This was a stunning victory with Vicario in absolutely inspired form in goal. Ahead of him, Dragusin was immense in a backline that managed superbly without either Romero or van de Ven. Maddison took his two goals excellently while the speed and decisiveness of Spurs' attacks frequently alarmed City's defence. A remarkable win and one that Spurs will hope is a launching pad for the rest of their season.
Man City, it must be said, did not play disastrously this evening. Against any other goalkeeper, they would have made it a nervy match but Vicario was in inspired form, repeatedly thwarting Haaland and co as City's frustrations grew and grew. They were, however, done time and again by a superb counterattack from Spurs. City's defending wasn't good enough on any of the goals that they conceded and against a team clinical at the other end, they fall to a heavy defeat. Not the Premier League result they needed before next weekend's trip to Anfield.
SPURS INFLICT A HOME DEFEAT ON MAN CITY - Nobody expected that scoreline! Manchester City's unbeaten home run crumples in spectacular fashion as Tottenham Hotspur hit them for four at the Etihad Stadium! Maddison's first-half brace had Spurs in control at the break. They withstood almighty pressure from Man City with goalkeeper, Vicario, excelling on several occasions to keep out the home side. Porro's third gave Spurs precious breathing room before they added a cherry to their cake in injury time when substitutes, Werner and Johnson, combined for a fourth. What a scoreline as Man City fall to a fifth successive defeat, in all competitions.

JOHNSON GLOSSES THE SCORELINE FOR SPURS - It's four for Tottenham! The visitors rub salt into Man City's wounds late on. Werner does superbly down the left wing, haring onto an errant City pass on halfway. Werner speeds away from Walker, all the way into the penalty box and his precise ball across the six-yard is tapped home, from a yard out, by fellow substitute, Johnson! The Etihad starts to empty.
