That wraps things up here on Tribe, thanks for joining us. Spurs put themselves in a great position with this win, but what will happen when Manchester United take on Rangers? That one's just about to kick off so go and follow all the action here on Tribe. See you next time.
So Spurs move up to 4th ahead of the later kick-offs. They will definitely be in the top eight ahead of their final fixture at home to Elfsborg next Thursday. A win then seals a top eight finish. They host Leicester City first on Sunday in the Premier League. Hoffenheim face a tough battle at home to Eintracht Frankurt in the Bundesliga on Sunday before a difficult trip to Anderlecht next Thursday. Nothing less than a win there will do to give them a chance of progressing to the play-off round. They have dropped to 28th and remain on six points from seven Europa League fixtures.
This was a huge win for Ange Postecoglou's Spurs side, and one that should see them go on to qualify as a top eight side next Thursday. Given the injury problems and domestic struggles they are facing that will be a huge relief, as it would mean they avoid two extra fixtures in February. Spurs seemed to be in cruise control for the first third of the game, but Hoffenheim settled and made it a nervous night in the end. When Son Heung-min clinically made it 1-3 you felt that should have been game, set and match. It's never that easy for this Spurs side though, and they allowed Hoffenheim back into it late on. Pedro Porro was caught out defensively on a number of occasions tonight, particularly from crosses. James Maddison and Rodrigo Bentancur were particular stand-outs, as they ran the game well from central midfield. Son Heung-min also deserves plaudits for his well-taken brace.
Christian Ilzer will be disappointed his side weren't able to come away with a result tonight. The difference was Spurs took their chances tonight and managed to hold on at the end. Hoffenheim didn't look like a side struggling at the bottom of the Bundesliga, as they carved out plenty of opportunities going forward. Andrej Kramaric was heavily involved but had more joy drifting wide and sending crosses in rather than attacking through the middle. He spurned a great chance when his free header hit the bar from eight yards. Defensively Kevin Akpoguma put a real shift in but was dead on his feet in the closing stages, while Pavel Kaderabek and David Jurasek looked good going forward but struggled against Dejan Kulusevski and Son Heung-min defensively.
SPURS COME AWAY WITH A MASSIVE THREE POINTS FROM HOFFENHEIM AFTER HOLDING ON AT THE END! The visitors led 0-2 and 1-3 but the German side never gave up and forced a nervy finish when David Mokwa Ntusu headed home in the 88th minute. Spurs looked vulnerable but managed to see out the final minutes and claim a victory that could go a long way towards securing a top eight finish. This defeat however leaves Hoffenheim outside the top 24 ahead of the final round of fixtures.
90+4'
Andrej Kramaric delivers the corner from the right for Hoffenheim. It's poor and straight to the near post. Pedro Porro heads clear. Spurs retain possession and bring it forward. They take it all the way to the right corner flag before Dejan Kulusevski takes it behind under the close attention of two Hoffenheim defenders.
90+3'
Arthur Chaves has a cross from the right deflected behind off Archie Gray. It came off his right arm but that was right by his side. Corner to Hoffenheim.
90+2'
Hoffenheim have camped out in the Spurs half as they desperately seek an equaliser. Ben Davies gets his body in the way of a cross from Pavel Kaderabek off the right.
FIVE additional minutes here. Can Hoffenheim find a late equaliser or will Spurs hold on?
