Manchester United held on to secure their first win in four Premier League matches, with their next challenge coming in the FA Cup against Fulham before a trip to Real Sociedad in the Europa League. For Ipswich, this marked their sixth defeat in the last seven league games, as they now head to Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup, followed by a Premier League trip to Crystal Palace.

Down to 10 men and with the scores level, you'd expect United to crumble but they came out strong in the second half. They took the lead just two minutes in through Harry Maguire’s header from a Bruno Fernandes corner. Ipswich settled after conceding but were thwarted by Maguire’s deflection of Liam Delap’s shot and two blocked efforts from Jens Cajuste. Jack Taylor also fired wide after coming on, and as the pressure mounted, Fernandes made a crucial block on Axel Tuanzebe’s shot before sprinting up the pitch to deliver a pass just out of reach of Noussair Mazraoui. In the end, Ipswich ran out of ideas and United held on for an important win.

Ipswich started strong, taking the lead just four minutes in thanks to a mistake from Andre Onana and Dorgu, allowing Jaden Philogene to roll the ball into an open net. United responded with a header from Harry Maguire that forced a good save from Palmer. United benefited from an own goal when Sam Morsy deflected Bruno Fernandes’ free-kick into his own net. Fernandes was at the heart of things again moments later, with a set-piece that led to Matthijs de Ligt scoring after some good work by Maguire and Diogo Dalot. United had more moments, but Dorgu’s reckless tackle on Omari Hutchinson earned him a red card, and just before halftime, a cross from Philogene found the bottom left corner to level the score just before the break.

BIG WIN FOR THE RED DEVILS! With their backs against the wall for much of the game after playing with 10 men for over half the match, United showed resilience. Despite going into the break level, Maguire's header put them ahead, and they comfortably saw out the game. Ipswich struggled to break them down, offering little in response.

Fernandes takes the free kick short, linking up with Eriksen to kill precious seconds off the clock. Ipswich’s frustration grows as Johnson is booked for fouling Fernandes, who showed great skill in holding the ball in the corner. United are doing all they can to run down the clock and secure the win.

Ipswich struggle to find a way through United’s defense as Taylor holds the ball in midfield. He attempts a long ball to the right, but it’s poorly executed, sailing straight out of play and gifting United possession once more. With little time remaining, it looks increasingly unlikely that Ipswich will find an equalizer.
