Up next in the FA Cup, Aston Villa will host West Ham in what promises to be a thrilling clash, while Leicester will welcome QPR as they look to bounce back and progress in the cup competition.
Despite a promising start to the second half from Leicester, it was Aston Villa who broke the deadlock just before the hour mark. Leicester failed to clear a corner effectively, allowing Ross Barkley to control the ball on the edge of the area and fire a precise shot into the bottom left corner. However, Leicester showed resilience, maintaining their strong start with a swift response as Stephy Mavididi capitalized on a rebound after Emiliano Martinez denied Jamie Vardy. The equalizer jolted Villa back into life, and they regained the lead with Ian Maatsen making an immediate impact off the bench by setting up Bailey, who slotted home the second. Villa dominated the closing stages, with Bailey rattling the crossbar and Watkins missing a golden opportunity from close range, leaving Leicester unable to prevent a hard-fought defeat.
Leicester arrived at Villa Park looking to halt their poor run, but early on, the Europe-chasing hosts showed promise with some fluid play. A clever link-up involving Bailey allowed Matty Cash to whip in a dangerous cross from the right, though Ollie Watkins couldn't convert under pressure from Conor Coady. The momentum briefly shifted toward Leicester, and Villa’s cause wasn’t helped by the early loss of captain John McGinn to injury. Neither side posed much of a threat in a drab first half. Villa did spark to life just before the break, with Cash forcing a save from Jakub Stolarczyk, but the game remained tight and uneventful until the second half brought an overdue increase in tempo.

Mavididi struggles to break forward on the left as Leicester continue to push for an equalizer. However, Villa's defense holds firm, denying him any clear opportunity to make an impact. The visitors are standing strong, keeping Leicester at bay as the final whistle draws closer.
90+3'
Leicester are pressing hard in the final minutes as they earn a throw on the left. The long throw into the box is met with some pressure, but Villa clear it easily as they defend resolutely. The Foxes will need to find a different approach if they are to break down the Villa defense in these dying moments.
90+1'
Leicester earn a corner on the right, and Buonanotte delivers a cross into the box. However, Martinez remains alert and comfortably claims the ball, halting any potential danger. The Villa keeper will be relieved to have such a straightforward take, as his side look to see out the match.
