Brooks picks up a yellow card for kicking the ball away and delays the Everton throw-in. Surely that will be it though as we have played the three additional minutes,

Mangala commits an easy foul by pulling down Ouattara down in the Bournemouth half. The referee blows for a foul and Travers will get onto it to launch a long ball forward.

TEAM NEWS: Everton: Sean Dyche will alter just the one position where Jesper Lindstrom will replace Jack Harrison. He will look to his bench later on for some impact. 

Zabarnyi clips long down to Semenyo in the right-hand channel but it is just overhit and goes out on the full for an Everton throw.

TEAM NEWS: Bournemouth: The Cherries have opted for three changes with Mark Travers taking over the gloves from Kepa Arrizabalaga who drops to the bench. Dango Ouattara and Justin Kluivert return to the starting lineup with Philip Billing and David Brooks also dropping into the substitutes. 

SHOT! Ndiaye does well to fend off Zabarnyi as he dribbles across the top of the Bournemouth box. He taps a pass to Lindstrom but he and Calvert-Lewin cross paths and block their own shot. It goes over the bar for a goal kick.

Everton look quickly to the bench here as the forward presence of Beto will replace Gueye who has occupied the midfield this afternoon.

We are all ready to go here in Bournemouth. John Brooks has the whistle for this encounter. 

Bournemouth will be very pleased with their performance in this first half of the season ending the year in seventh place in the Premier League. They look like a strong contender for European football next season as they have proved they can take points off the usual powerhouses in the top flight while also maintaining strong form in difficult fixtures. They will look to get back to winning ways this afternoon as they ended 2024 with two consecutive draws against Crystal Palace and Fulham respectively. However, the Cherries also have the chance of going eight games undefeated tonight if they can pull a result against Everton – they've never had a run this long in the Premier League. Bournemouth have brilliant recent history against Everton as they have won five of their last seven meetings between them. Andoni Iraola and his men will look to keep this momentum up as they head into a tricky run of away games after they host West Brom in the FA Cup next weekend, followed by Chelsea away at Stamford Bridge. 

Sean Dyche and his side have a large task ahead this afternoon as they sit down in 16th on the table. Everton have had a mixed run of results in recent weeks where they have gone four from five games without a defeat. Last time out they lost to Nottingham Forest in a disappointing display at home and will look to correct that this afternoon. The Toffees have shown they are able to grab results where they were able to keep both Arsenal and Manchester City to draws in recent match weeks. A very important fixture here for Everton as they will be able to steer clear of the relegation zone with a result away from home this afternoon. 

CLOSE! Semenyo slots a ball to Evanilson inside the Everton area. He turns sharply to create room for a shot. He winds up but slips in the process where Pickford pounces on the mistake and collects.

A great ending to this one for Bournemouth as they found the crucial goal they were looking for through substitute Brooks. His finish was enough to earn the hosts all three points as Everton just didn't create enough chances to be able to convert. Bournemouth did well to continue to pile the pressure on Pickford who made several superb saves to deny Bournemouth going ahead. In the end it took a wonder cross from Kerkez into Brooks in the 77th minute to break the deadlock who finished tidily. Everton came close to keeping the Cherries out but were just too much in the end.

And we are back underway here! Two subs for Sean Dyche's side as Armstrong and Paterson will come on for Mangala and Lindstrom.

SHOT! Doucoure gives the ball away poorly for Evanilson to run at goal. Tarkowski makes the challenge but it lands at Semenyo's feet. He looks to shoot low and hard at the goal but Pickford does well to get down and make a key save.

Ndiaye perhaps letting out some frustration as he goes through the back of Hill just in front of the dugout. An easy decision for the referee to blow for a foul.

Another corner for Bournemouth as Hill's cross from the right hand side is blocked once again. It is swung into the area but cleared by the visitors.

A nice ball from Christie into the area is contested by Unal and Mykolenko. Unal wins the header but glances it wide of the right hand post.

Ndiaye gets taken down by Cook deep inside the Bournemouth half. Ashley Young takes it short to Doucoure who cannot find Broja in the box.

Adams brings down Beto as Everton were on the break. The referee quickly gives the yellow to Adams who took one for the team.

Broja is unable to continue after the knock he received earlier on. Dominic Calvert-Lewin will slot straight into the centre-forward role.

Both sides will be happy with the way they went out in the first half. Bournemouth as per usual look to create chances whenever they can. They look dangerous going forward and off set-pieces. When they get balls into the box they look like getting close to scoring every time. Everton are doing what they do best as they sit deep and absorb all the pressure and have had a couple of half-chances going forward. They will need to look to be very clinical going forward as they have nowhere near as many chances as the hosts. For Bournemouth, they will need to keep applying the pressure and hope that Everton eventually cracks. The best chance of the game came when Semenyo got on the end of a beautiful cross and finished past Pickford into the back of the net. However, he just went slightly too early and was called back for offside.

Bournemouth also look to the bench as Philip Billing comes on to replace Evanilson who has worked hard going forward for the hosts.

Young does well to slip between the two Bournemouth defenders driving inside on the right byline. He then receives unnecessary contact from behind and goes down in a dangerous position for a free kick on the right-hand edge of the box.

And we are underway, with Bournemouth in their red and black stripes and Everton in their classic blue. Everton go long immediately and grab an early corner as Lindstrom puts pressure on the Cherries defence high up the pitch.

SHOT! Mangala gets a touch which is enough to fall for Lindstrom in central midfield. His eyes light up but his strike is poor from miles out. Very ambitious.

SHOT! And you would think the hosts should have gone ahead here. Semenyo gets at Mykolenko and plays Kluivert in. He tries to chip Pickford but he makes another great save. Semenyo picks it up for a shot but Pickford once again denies the Bournemouth forward.

Pickford launches long from a free-kick into the Bournemouth penalty box. Branthwaite rises to flick it on to Calvert-Lewin who can't get there as it runs out for a goal-kick.

Three subs here for the hosts as they will look to switch it up for the last 20. Ouattara, Hill and Kluivert all make way for Brooks, Unal and Tyler Adams. Iraola will hope these subs can be the difference late into this one.

What should be mentioned is the reverse fixture that served up one of the most dramatic Premier League games in history. Everton were two goals ahead until the 87th minute at Goodison Park but conceded three times in the closing stages in a gut-wrenching defeat. Could we see something of the like this afternoon? 

CHANCE! Doucoure finds Gueye on the edge of the area. He slides a pass to Ndiaye and trickles his way towards goal. It looks promising but Ouattara is able to get in the way to clear for a corner.

SHOT! Almost the perfect response from the visitors. Calvert-Lewin wins a header in the Bournemouth area and it falls for Doucoure. He hits it on the half volley and it flies past the left post. It looked like it beat Travers but just missed the target.

THE CHERRIES BREAK THE DEADLOCK! And you would have to say this has been coming as this game has gone on. Semenyo wins a high ball and it lands at Kerkez' feet in the final third down the left-hand channel. He delivers an excellent ball to the back post where the substitute Brooks arrives to meet. He finishes well on the volley, into the left hand side of the net, where Pickford could do nothing about it.

Mykolenko launches throw forward and Ndiaye picks up the scraps. It goes out for another Everton throw.

Lucky for Everton! Mangala receives the ball and then looks to play a backwards pass but it doesn't have enough power on it. Evanilson pounces and is able to turn forward and break. However, he wasn't quick enough and a tame shot is easily cleared by the Everton defence.

CLOSE! A corner is played short on the left side by Smith who receives it straight back. He then delivers where Huijsen is at the back post for a header, however the angle is tight and he misses from close range.

CHANCE! Patterson wins the ball back in the Cherries half and drives past a couple of Bournemouth defenders. He finds room to shoot but sprays high and wide.

Doucoure loses possession of the ball and then commits a foul on Adams by bringing him down. The referee puts him into the book.

SHOT! Great feet from Ouattara on the edge of the box as he twists and turns to create space for a shot. His shot is low and directed to the bottom left corner of the goal but Pickford dives to his right to steer it away smartly for a corner.

SHOT! So close for Bournemouth. The ball falls on the edge of the Everton area for where there are shouts for a penalty as Mangala swings his boot rather high. Evanilson is then played in and fires with his right boot along the floor, just past the left post. Very close for the Cherries.

Play will resume with a drop ball for Everton in their own penalty box.

Everton swing a free-kick in for Branthwaite at the back post. It's just too far for him to bring down and goes out for a goal kick.

Armstrong is taken down on the Bournemouth half. Everton fill the box for the free kick but his delivery is poor and it fails to beat the first defender.

SAVE! A long throw into the box from the right hand touchline falls for Ouattara on the six yard line. He swings his right boot but cannot get enough power to beat the diving Pickford. Very close for the hosts.

For Bournemouth, they stay in seventh on the ladder due to other results but stay in touch with the European spots. They will look to the cup format next weekend and will host EFL Championship side West Brom in a match they will rotate the squad but also look to win to get their name in the hat. Following that they face a busy few days as they head to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea closely followed by a trip up to Newcastle for an important fixture.

Bournemouth have it in the back of the net! However, this one won't stand as the linesman has his flag up for offside. Christie whips a dangerous cross into the back post. Semenyo gets there and finishes nicely into the back of the net. He just times his run too early meaning it remains goalless here.

Another corner for the Cherries as Christie delivers. He drives it into the box and finds Evanilson who heads towards goal under no pressure whatsoever. However, it is easy for Pickford who swallows it comfortably.

Kerkez receives the ball going forward down the left. He takes a touch to deliver a dangerous cross to the back post where Semenyo gets up over Mykolenko and nods towards the goal. Pickford is able to make a nice save to prevent any threat.

Everton will be disappointed tonight after their solid defensive efforts weren't enough to keep out the Bournemouth pressure. Jordan Pickford in goal was easily the busiest man on the park with countless saves pulled off to keep the hosts out. Everton stay in 16th only two points clear of the dropzone where they will now start to be weary of what they need to do to avoid it. They will host Peterborough United next weekend in the FA Cup and will look to reset after a tough run of games.

Semenyo does well to pick up the scraps won by the Bournemouth midfield. He drives forward centrally and slides it into Evanilson, who is outstretched to his right as it runs by him back into Everton's possession.

Crunching challenge on halfway by Branthwaite. He slides in on Evanilson on the halfway line and is a tad late. The referee goes straight to the notebook early here.

CHANCE! Young whips in a looping cross to the back stick. Travers tries to divert it as it falls to Armstrong. He isn't able to direct his header on target and goes behind for a goal kick.

Broja has gone down here after he kicked the ground during his shooting motion. He will receive some treatment from the Everton staff in this short delay.
