Leicester will find out their opponent in the next round during tomorrow night's draw. We'll also have plenty of coverage of Wednesday's cup ties as more sides look to progress. Signing off for tonight, thanks for your company.
Tranmere would have been hoping for a decent performance once the miracle victory was off the table. They didn't get that. The visitors couldn't stop Leicester's rampant midfield trio, not to mention the wide threats. You can count on one hand the number of opportunities they head on the break, all of which were wasted.
Ayew's first half effort from outside the box was a stunning way of opening his Leicester account, curling it into the top corner. Mavididi slotted home a penalty which was just reward for his wide threat. Ndidi was wasteful when he got in behind, until he wasn't with a second half strike into the bottom corner. Winks rounded off the scoring with a beautiful strike from the edge of the area late on.
Steve Cooper has his first win as Leicester manager as the Foxes storm into the third round of the cup. A scintillating second half performance underscored their dominance, as strikes from Stephy Mavididi (penalty), Wilfred Ndidi and Harry Winks added to Jordan Ayew's opener to seal an efficient win.

Mavididi got everyone off their seat with a handful of touches in the box which set up a shot. It's blocked. Winks then has a chance on the volley but he shanks it wide.

Popov again nearly gets an opportunity. He turns the wrong way after holding the ball up in the box, pivoting straight to a defender. He can't get the ball out from under his feet for a shot and ends up fouling the defender after his pocket was picked.

Fatawu tries to make a run in behind the full-back. It's a clever run, but Choudhury's pass has too much on it as it rolls out of play. Perhaps in the first half without the rain, that holds up on the turf nicely.
Just to make matters worse; four goals, the rain coming down and now there will be another five minutes of misery. Poor Tranmere.
