Spurs have pulled off a dramatic late comeback to edge past Coventry City and progress to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup for the first time in two seasons. Make sure you join us again on Tribe next week for more live action from the remaining third round ties. It's been a pleasure bringing you all the action from the Coventry Building Society Arena tonight. For now, Harrison Ryburn signing out.
Heartbreak for Coventry in contrast, who would have started checking the other names in the hat for the fourth round draw with two minutes of normal time to play. They disrupted and frustrated Spurs for the entirety, and despite being pinned back inside their own half for long stages, looked dangerous everytime they snaffled possession and broke forward on the counter. Their defence was organised and well-drilled too, and they didn't offer Spurs a sniff inside the final third, keeping their opponents to just a single shot on target inside the first hour. It looked as if they were headed through when Brandon Thomas-Asante put them ahead as such, but they lost their concentration and cool slightly late on, and were punished by their Premier League opposition, conceding two goals in four minutes. It's a cruel way to bow out, but the Sky Blues must now put it behind them and re-angle their focus towards fixing a slow start to their Championship campaign.
A very lucky day for Spurs, who appeared all but headed for an early exit from the Carabao Cup tonight. Following on from their North London derby defeat, it was another frustrating performance from Ange Postecoglu's men. They dominated 70% of the possession and dictated the tempo throughout, but lacked creativity going forward and struggled for any way through Coventry's defensive block. They failed to create anything on target for sixty minutes as a result, and in truth, never looked as if they deserved the victory. Postecoglu's desperation saved Spurs in the end though, and the substitutes came to the rescue late on, with Johnson and Spence both finding the net to steal victory. It isn't the response Spurs fans would have been wanting after the weekend, but they've just about kept their Carabao Cup campaign aive and remain in the hunt for a piece of silverware.
Fulltime at the Coventry Building Society Arena and Tottenham Hotspur have pulled off a dramatic late comeback to defeat Coventry City and progress to the fourth round of the Carabo Cup. The Premier League side found themselves on the back foot throughout, and despite dominating possession, struggled for any way through Coventry's defence. Thomas-Asante's goal midway through the second half appeared to be sending the Sky Blues through as such, but a raft of changes from Postecoglu saved the day for Spurs, and a goal each from Djed Spence and Brennan Johnson in the space of four minutes pulled the rabbit out of the hat. Coventry can't believe they've let it slip at the final whistle, but it's the Lilywhites who will progress through to the final sixteen of the league cup for the first time in two seasons.

INCREDIBLE! JOHNSON WITH THE WINNER! COVENTRY CAN'T BELIEVE IT! Spurs have turned this tie on it's head in the space of four minutes, and Coventry's lead has slipped away in a matter of moments! Bentancur drives forward through the middle for the visitors, before looking up and slipping a pass in-behind for Johnson to collect down the right-hand side of the box. The Welsh international finds himself in acres of space, and draws Wilson off his line, before poking the ball around the keeper on his right foot and into the back of the net. It's a cool finish from the substitute and Spurs have got out of jail! Coventry hold their heads in disbelief.

Four minutes of injury-time at the end of this one, and both sides will now be thinking about a shoot-out. Coventry look rather deflated, whilst Spurs are bouncing about with energy after that leveller. Davies and Dragusin hold up possession deep inside their own half.
