That wraps things up here on Tribe, thanks for joining us. We've got coverage of the latter stages of Spurs v Man City playing out now as the final spots in the Carabao Cup Quarter-Finals are about to be decided. We'll be back this weekend with all the Premier League action including Liverpool v Brighton again, this time at Anfield on Saturday. See you then.
Liverpool progress to the last eight then in the first domestic competition of the season. The Carabao Cup holders faced a tough battle here but came through thanks to some fine attacking displays from a much-changed side. Cody Gakpo did his chances no harm at all, with a brace here going with the brace he scored in the last round against West Ham. He surely has to be in Arne Slot's thoughts to start in the league now on Saturday. Jarell Quansah will be disappointed at his involvement in Brighton's first goal, and his unfortunate deflection also proved costly for their second. After errors earlier in the season, he gave Brighton hope of a way back in the latter stages here. On the whole though Slot will be pleased to have won the game without acquiring any injuries to his squad. This extends his run to just one defeat in his first 14 competitive games in charge.
Fabian Hurzeler will be disappointed to see his side exit the Carabao Cup tonight, but in truth he seemed to make his priorities known with the eight changes he opted to make for this game. Tariq Lamptey struggled against Cody Gakpo after coming in at right back, losing out to him in particular for his second goal. The introduction of Kaoru Mitoma injected real energy and intent down the left for Brighton, with Simon Adingra impressing as well for the Seagulls in an attacking sense. Defensively though they were a bit too open and missed the presence of injured captain Lewis Dunk. Hurzeler will no doubt roll back the changes at Anfield on Saturday in what will be two very different starting sides. He should expect to see Cody Gakpo again though after his outstanding display here.
A frantic second half ends with five goals and Liverpool progressing to the Quarter-Finals of the Carabao Cup. It was some game in the second half, as Brighton never gave up despite twice going two goals behind. Cody Gakpo's finely taken brace had looked like sealing the deal, but Jarell Quansah's error allowed Simon Adingra to pull one back. Luis Diaz's drive made it 1-3 but Tariq Lamptey's wickedly deflected strike on 90 minutes led to a nervous final few moments for the visitors.
90+4'
Brighton go searching for Kaoru Mitoma again, this time from deep. A long ball over the top fails to have the intended results though as Mitoma strays offside.
90+3'
Liverpool get numbers back for the Brighton free kick. Kaoru Mitoma clips it in but Joe Gomez helps it clear for the visitors.
90+2'
Ibrahima Konate is involved straight away. He is penalised for pulling down Danny Welbeck 30 yards from goal. Konate is shown a yellow card within a minute of coming on. Free kick to Brighton.

It's been a tough time for Jarell Quansah and he's withdrawn in stoppage time for Ibrahima Konate as Liverpool look to hold onto this victory.
