That is all we have time for on Tribe as Brentford avoid a big scare to reach the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup. I have been Elliot Thompson and thank you for joining me. Join us on Tribe tomorrow as there are five more Carabao Cup ties.
Next up for Brentford is six days of rest and training before they face Fulham on Monday in the Premier League. Sheffield Wednesday don't have that much time to recover as they play Watford at home on Saturday with all their focus now on the Championship.
Danny Rohl will be disappointed to not go through after taking the Premier League outfit to penalties. Sheffield Wednesday showed Brentford too much respect in the first half hence why it was a stroll in the park for the home side. In the second 45 minutes, they forced Frank's side into many mistakes. They had a golden chance shortly after Gassama fired them back into the game. Ugbo ran into the box on the right side. He dragged his shot wide of the left post when he had Gassama open in the box for a tap-in. They proceeded to force Flekken into a couple more saves but the substitute Palmer couldn't keep the theme of empathic penalties going in the shootout. His effort was saved by Flekken who dived down to his right to knock Wednesday out of the cup.
BRENTFORD ARE INTO THE QUARTER-FINALS OF THE CARABAO CUP! Thomas Frank is on the pitch clapping the home fans around the stadium. His side are the second team to make the last eight of the Carabao Cup alongside Southampton. It was a nervy night in the end even though they dominated the first half. Schade gave the home side the lead as he got on the end of a pass from Lewis-Potter. His first shot was saved but bounced back into his feet for a simple tap-in. Mbeumo had a powerful attempt saved in the first half as well before Jensen even hit the post from a corner. In the second half, they acted like the game was already done as they invited pressure from Sheffield Wednesday. Flekken gifted the away side the chance to equalise with a poor throw out trying to start a counter-attack. Gassama fired the ball past him into the left corner. Brentford threw men forward towards the end but they couldn't make a big chance to score the winner. So it did go to penalties. They showed their experience against the 19-year-old Charles in goal as they dispatched all their spot-kicks calmly. Then Flekken made up for his mistake to ensure their cup dream is still on!
FLEKKEN MAKES UP FOR HIS ERROR TO BECOME THE HERO! Palmer comes up to take the all-important penalty. He choreographs his kick with his run-up as he tries to place it into the bottom left corner. Flekken dives to his right to parry it out guessing correctly!
