It goes from bad to worse for Perth as they slump to another loss, a result that sees them slide to the bottom of the table on goal difference with the Brisbane Roar. They were average from the start tonight. Outplayed in the midfield by a stronger Jets side who ran all over them on attack. Only Risdon shone brightly for his side. David Zdrilic will need another long look at his side as they head to Brisbane next weekend for a clash with the similarly struggling Roar.
It was a good as it gets for Jets fans this evening. Newcastle were totally dominant from the first whistle as they found the net three times in the first half an hour. Goals to Aquilina, Bayliss and Gibson early really put them onto the front foot! Gibson netted another in the second half to put the game to bed early! Aquilina was outstanding through the middle of the park, while Natta and Wilmering linked well on the left. Up front, Taylor, Adams and Gibson were superb, getting away from their men regularly. They have the bye next week before travelling to Wellington after Christmas.
A comprehensive win for Newcastle as they put Perth to the sword out west!

Faisal looks to get onto a run down the left edge! Cuts inside of Cancar and the ball forward for Taggart is just a touch too far in front of the striker as Scott comes out to dive all over it at the top of his box. Kept short in the middle of their half for the Jets as Natta sends it up the middle. Welissoll is on the march! Off to Dobson on the right edge of the box but a good sliding challenge snuffs out the attack! That will do us!

Aquilina and Bayliss link in the middle but they drag it out for Natta on halfway. The Jets work it left to right around the back before switching back to the other side. Lovely work as Wilmering gets to the outside! Finds Dobson at the top of the box! Hits it hard off the left but straight into the defender at the top!

Three minutes of added time. Here comes Risdon down the right edge for Perth! Cuts back inside and gets to the outside edge of the box but blows the shot on goal a mile off target. Scott takes his time before going short up the right with Cancar and Bayliss.

Perth come forward up the right from halfway! They drops a ball over the top into the box where Taggart tries to get the header on it in front of Scott! Headed away by Natta for a corner! Delivered in off the right by Gomulka but the header is away well left of the target.
