The stand out tonight for Bangladesh was their young keeper Marma! Even though he conceded plenty, he saved a lot more! Diving left and right at times, and keeping out a Luongo penalty late, he can certinaly hold his head up high as Bangladesh look for positives to take away. They too, have a quick turn around as they take on Lebanon in the middle of next week.
It was always going to be tall task for Bangladesh tonight, but Australia made them pay, scoring regularly with sub Maclaren netting a second half hat trick. The Socceroos were clinical in front of goal tonight. Miller, Baccus and Duke were all excellent, as were Bos and Souttar attacking the flanks. They head to Kuwait next week to take on Palenstine.
A clinical performance from Australia to open their FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign in Melbourne tonight. They were completely dominant and put Bangladesh to sword, finding the back of the net on seven occasion.

Metcalfe stands over the top of the free kick. Drives it in low through the wall and it is into the side netting of the goal. Bangladesh look for one last counter up the right. The ball is curled into towards the spot but the Socceroos are back there and head it clear. That will do us.

Free kick in the midfield for Australia as Bangladesh go in hard on the tackle. Another attack down the right for the Socceroos as Miller goes one way then the other outside the box! Down he goes in the tackle and gets the free kick just outside the box in line with the top of the area.

Lovely ball down the right with Miller and Yengi linking up! Gets a ball across on the volley for Maclaren on the spot! Looking for another he turns it over the top of the bar!

Four minutes of added time. Yengi gets onto a ball inside the box on the right edge and blasts it at close range! Blocked away for a corner! The short corner is taken and the ball is swung in again from Australia but it is cleared by Bangladesh.
