That wraps things up from this one, but thanks for joining us on Tribe. This is Ryan Nixon (@NewYorkNixon) signing off.
For the Phoenix, their first half performance was on the back of some excellent performances from Maya McCutcheon and Mebae Tanaka, who linked neatly down the right along with Zoe McMeeken and Oliva Fergusson up front. Daisy Brazendale helped control the midfield in a torrid battle, with the referee allowing plenty to go, while the defensive unit were resolute.
Adelaide grew into the game in the second half as they threw everything forward in search of an equaliser, and relied on impressive keeper Claudia Jenkins to keep the Phoenix from doubling their lead. However, they weren't able to really test Carolina Vilao, failing to register a shot on target throughout the game, despite plenty of toiling from Fiona Worts and Erin Healy up front. Emily Hodgson was also impressive, but they ultimately come away empty from Unite Round empty handed.
A rare win for the Wellington Phoenix women, and they're finally on the board this season. It was a win they thoroughly deserved, especially given their first half performance, where they dominated possession and field position, and created plenty of scoring opportunities. Their execution in the final third wasn't quite there, as they spurned numerous chances, but they did scramble home what eventually turned out to be the only goal they required with the last kick of the first half.

Corner into the six yard box, but headed away and then thumped clear by Brazendale. Still time says the ref, but a ball back into the area is claimed by Vilao.
90+9'
Vilao is back on her feet and launches the ball forward, beyond halfway. The Nix are almost home, but Adelaide keep pressing. A ball forward results in a corner as McCutcheon toes it behind.
90+8'
Vilao stays down for treatment. The Nix are readying their young keeper replacement Neary.
