Macarthur were under the pump for large parts of that second half, battling into the breeze and with the speed of the Western United counter attacks on the flanks. Adamson was their standout. He was involved on both sides of the ball with some brilliant touches. Kurto kept his side in with some great positioning and saves. A draw definitely wasn’t the result they were looking forward to this evening, but taking a point from this game with the pressure they were under will at least provide some comfort. They will head to Wellington to take on the Phoenix next weekend.

So we finish in a scoreless draw at Ironbark Fields. It was a tale of missed opportunities out there this evening as both sides had chances to find the back of the net. The goal keeping was superb at times with both keepers keeping their sides in it. Western United will be bitterly disappointed not to find the net. They had some massive chances through the likes of Danzaki and Ibusuki but they weren’t able to find that last ball into the back of the net this evening. That is the third draw for United this season in just 7 matches. They looked the better side this evening and there were definite signs that they are on the improve. They will head to Sydney FC for their next fixture.

Down the left comes Shamoon as United look for a last gasp winner. Turned over as Germain checks the run as he is offside. Bosnjak tries to put the pressure on Thurgate who goes to ground in the contact inside his half. He wins the free kick. United hammer it down the right as Ibusuki can't control it on the edge of the box. Macarthur try to clear it from inside the box but they struggle! United can't get the shot away and eventually Macarthur are able to hack it away into the middle! That will do it!

United are camped inside their half and cough the ball up in the right corner. Thurgate does well to link with Russell but Macarthur come away with it. They rake it back for Jones in the middle! Scott down the left looks to find Germain at the top of the box. He cuts back towards it but the flag is up for offside!

Three minutes of added time as Macarthur go quickly on a free kick near halfway. Shamoon does well to win it back but ends up putting it over the sideline inside his half. De Silva works down the right edge but the ball is too far in front of Germain and over the byline.

Little volley from over the top by De Silva looking for a header inside the box for Macarthur! It bobbles around before Sutton is able to bring it under control on the six yard box! Germain is back down the left! Crossed high back into the box! No power on the lid from Adamson as it falls easily for Sutton on his line!

Thurgate controls a ball in the middle! Pushes it forward on the edge of the box for Najjarine! The defence is right there and turns it away from him! Macarthur try to counter up the left edge with Germain! His pass forward is just too far in front of Bosnjak and it rolls over the sideline near the corner.
