It's finished all square at two goals each in an entertaining midweek affair between Western United and the Central Coast Mariners. Make sure you join us again on Tribe for more A-Leagues action this weekend. It's been a pleasure bringing you all the action from Ironbark Fields in Tarneit this evening. For now, Harrison Ryburn signing out.
Western United will have to wait another ten days before they're back in action, with a trip to Macarthur FC in Campbelltown next up. Meanwhile, the Mariners return home for the first time this year, with a highly anticipated F3 Derby against the Jets on Saturday night in Gosford.
A pretty entertaining affair in the end after a dreary opening half hour. Western United looked the more dominant for the majority of the match, holding onto 70% of the possession at one stage, and generally playing in the much higher areas. They pressed high too, forcing errors, and applying the pressure throughout. Again this was a performance defined by resolve from the Mariners, and they were able to frustrate in response. Kaltak led the defence superbly again, helped by his partner Sainsbury at the back. They were able to create a couple of moments on the counter-attack too, transitioning from defence to attack on numerous occasions. Ultimately it's not a bad result for them, extending their unbeaten run to three, and ending a five-game away run on a positive note.
Fulltime in Tarneit and it finishes all square between Western United and the Central Coast Mariners. Trailing at the break, the hosts saw most of the running in the second half. The goal eventually came with fifteen minutes to play, when Ben Garuccio scored from a direct free kick to level the contest up at two goals apiece. They had more chances to win it, and so did the Mariners, but neither side could land a decisive blow late on. It's not a horrible result for either side though, preserving their unbeaten runs to three apiece.

Western push forward down the other end in response, with the crowd spurring them on. Vickery tries a delivery into the middle off the left, but he gets it all wrong, and shanks the ball straight over the byline.
90+3'
BIG CHANCE! Sutton saves the day for Western United! Kuol holds up play in midfield, before turning and splitting the opposition defence with a perfectly-timed pass in-behind. Doka picks it up, and finds himself with just the keeper to beat as he steams down the left-hand side of the box. Sutton makes himself big though, and rushes off his line to parry away with a pair of strong hands.

Scicluna picks up a touch on the right, as the Mariners push out of their own half and advance. He looks for the run of Kuol through the middle, but Leonard intercepts, and Western settle things down.
90+1'
Into five minutes of injury-time, and Mark Jackson has decided to roll the dice, making an attacking change late in the piece. Vitor Feijao comes on to replace Storm Roux for what's left of the contest.
