In the final stages, despite some late pressure from Newcastle, the Wanderers held firm to secure a well-deserved victory. Newcastle struggled to break down the opposition defense and failed to create clear-cut chances, as the Wanderers maintained a solid structure at the back. In the second half, Sapsford seemingly put the game out of reach with a brilliant solo effort, slaloming past defenders to finish in the top corner. However, Newcastle were given a lifeline when a penalty was awarded after a challenge in the box, and Grozos converted it to pull one back for the visitors. The goal gave them a brief hope of a comeback, but the Wanderers swiftly responded with a penalty of their own. Milanovic, who had been pivotal throughout, was fouled in the box and won a penalty for his side. The Wanderers’ star stepped up confidently and powered the ball into the bottom left corner, completing his hat-trick and sealing all three points for his team.

Clisby drives forward through the middle, looking to create an opportunity. Borrello is making a run towards the right of the box, but Clisby's pass is off-target, drifting away from him and going out of play.
